2015 EICMA: Bimota Impeto
Bimota calls its new Impeto, introduced at EICMA 2015, a Hyper-Naked. We don’t know when all these specialized categories for motorcycles is going to stop, but from the sound of it, here’s hoping Hyper-Naked catches on.
As outlined in our Bimota sneak preview article, the Impeto comes powered by the dual spark Ducati Diavel L-Twin, now with ride-by-wire technology, traction control and ABS. These photos also reveal the Impeto will come with Ohlins suspension at both ends, Brembo radial-mount calipers, what appear to be OZ Racing lightweight wheels, and Michelin Power Supersport tires – the rear a 200/55-17 profile.
The Impeto should be an already impressive performer in standard trim, but for the enthusiast looking to maximize their Impeto’s performance, they can turn to the “Bimota Experience” accessory list where they will find:
- A composite frame and swingarm with light alloy plates combined with structural carbon fiber tubes.
- A 3.5-inch TFT color display housed in an alloy billet case, with integrated data recording, GPS, and automatic racetrack configuration.
- The new Bimota supercharger kit the company says will increase torque up to 20% on Ducati liquid-cooled engines.
At press time, pricing and availability for the Impeto or the supercharger hadn’t been announced.
