You may want to cover the airbox and exhaust openings to keep dirt and critters out. Rags or tape will work fine on airboxes. Exhausts can be covered with a plastic bag and a rubber band or with half of an old tennis ball. Some thorough riders spray WD-40 into their muffler as an extra precaution (because of its water displacing qualities) before plugging it.
