I really like the avatar/photo showing the motorcycle attempting to crash through the Wall o' Mucus. I think they had that show at Daytona last year next to the Wall o' Death.

Default Actually this is a good post

As Sun Tszu put it "...know your enemy...". The next great attack against motorcycles will in all likelyhood come from the topics in this post. It would behove the industry to avoid this battle by prempting the issue, beat the greens/ all the other political bedfellows out after bikes to the punch. "Where there is no resistance there can be no force...". 1 person on a 60 mpg bike is 60 pmpg. 4 people in a 25 mpg SUV is 100 pmpg.

Good points, but first off where is this 25 mpg SUV and how many are out there? Second, where and how common are these additional three passengers to which you refer? Third, if you're going to use stats assuming people might be carpooling, then why can't the motorcyclist too; so 2 people on a 60 mpg bike is 120 pmpg and (is this SUV 5 passenger max?) 5 people in a 25 mpg SUV is 125 pmpg.

But you're right, the media won't present it the way that I have and they probably won't present it with the real-life statistics of how many people, on average, are riding in an SUV each mile. They probably also won't mention the resources that go into creating each vehicle. They also won't mention the fact that other places besides the U.S. regulate emissions, you know, those pesky Europeans and their Euro standards (Euro2 or 3 ring any bells?).

I'd like to see the same model year vehicles compared as well, for instance a 2004 bike to a 2004 SUV.
