Let me get this straight. This means that because Yamaha pulled out as a manufacturer that privateers running their own R1s are also ineligible?

That's my own take on it. Apparently, No "Factory Support" = No Homologation.

Somebodies feeling's got hurt. Great way to punish your most loyal privateers.

Canadian Superbike Board: "If you take your ball and leave we will eject anybody that looks like you."

It's motorcycle racism. Has anyone call Jesse Jackson?

C'mon guys, you know the name of the racing game is to sell shyt and make money. Tickets, teevee, motorcycles, whatever. If Yermamaha isn't coughing up the "fee" money, who's surprised they're told to take a hike?

Furthermore, if a privateer goes out and wins big on an R1, essentially Yamahahaha gets a bunch of "free" publicity. That would kinda piss you off if you were one of the manufacturers paying to be in the series, wouldn't it?
