Lorenzo going to Ducati sounds good, but if I were him I'd stick with Yamaha. Repsol Honda would field a 3rd factory bike, but the only way Lorenzo gets paid is by personal sponsor deals, I'd bet. As for Nicky, not a great year, but a big improvement. Ducati will option. Why? DNA! Ducati North America sells more bikes than anyone in the free world. They asked for Nicky to be in that seat and they will stick with Nick because he's selling bikes. If Nick gets on the podium at Indy you can count on that contract being signed.
Personally, I'd like to see Ducati offer Nick the WSB seat next to Haga. I think that the 1198r is more suited to his riding style than today's MotoGP bikes. Nick's about 155lbs. That's pretty heavy in GP standards. The average guy goes less than 145lbs now. Nick's too big for GP. Take a WSB seat and make tons of money with Ben. Yes, Ben will stay at Yamaha and win a 2nd title in slam dunk fashion next season. Why would he want to take a second rate GP seat on a bike he's too big for?
If Ben stays and Nick, Jamie Hacking and Ben Bostrom go WSB racing it will be the best season ever!
