Was the motorcyclist wearing a helmet?

Funny thing, the other media outlet here, WSLS 10 the NBC affiliate, always will include if rider had a helmet or not. But only seem to cover fatalities or major trauma.
Be nice to see a story on how a good rider avoided the cager applying makeup & updating her Facebook status from her cellphone before droping it in her coffee on her morning commute. But that wont happen. |

Well, I just wanted to know if he deserved to die or not. |

Wearing? = Sad, sad Tragedy. His Family, co-workers, and the Community at Large mourn his passage and will miss him. Not Wearing? = Irresponsible Scofflaw-Stunna/Scootertrash-Dirtbag that will only be missed by the absence of Street Crime in his particular neighborhood, for a time. In either case, it's NEVER the fault of the person in the other vehicle, 'cuz "They didn't see him!" Yeah, I got a pissy attitude today - you wanna make somethin' of it? |
There was an accident here in Va several years ago, a guy I used to work with riding on a long steady curve of a country road, oncoming traffic top heavy dump truck. The truck actually tipped over onto him as they were passing. Whats the chance of that happening? I'll give the local media credit on that on though, they reported him as he was. A very safe & experienced rider who was always safety conscious. Fact is, that dump truck could've rolled onto a cement mixer & killed that driver just as easily.

"A very safe & experienced rider who was always safety conscious."
Just goes to show you that 'safety' is a very elusive concept. More of a state of mind than a physical state. |
Oh, I don't know. Hazards can be mitigated to a degree but in the end I guess you're right, it's a coin toss.

Ya you are very true.Wearing helmet and drive is very safe for your life. You should break the rules.Helmet can protects you from big accidents.
