![]() Read the sticky threads in the new riders forum.
You're legally an adult and can do what you like. I, however, won't do one thing to contribute to your madness.

![]() the reason i'm goin with bikes like those is the weight the heavier the bike the harder it's gonna be for it to come out from under me from the wind or highway cruising since it will be my primary vehicle up till winter and im no stranger to the rear end getting lite i almost lost my truck a few times on the freeway cuz of windy days and cruising around 75mph since there isn't a lot of weight after the cab

![]() Smokeu,
Assuming it is neither... 90K1500, You buy any of the bikes you mentioned, you'll need a 'stimulus package' to pay the insurance, if you decide to get it. Not that you'll be paying more than one month's premium. The argument at your funeral will be whether you ran into somebody, or they ran into you. I'm guessing it will be because you lost control of the bike. Oh, and this pile is sh!t, and this here pile is Shinola. Do everyone a big favor, and buy a 4-cylinder Camry. Come back and talk to us in four years. Just trying to help.

![]() Hey, I hear golf is the thing to do these days. Just pick up some clubs and go. The motorcycle thing is yesterday's news. Get with it and go golfing.

![]() Picking these bikes because of weight? Duuuuuude, Buy a 1982 GS1100 if you need weight. Chosing from some of the most powerful sportbikes in the world will land you in the hospital or grave with less than three years of riding experience. Also, insurance IS an issue. What are you going to do? Put liability coverage on it and call it a day, I guess. Even State Farm won't touch an 18yo with out getting $2000+ annual. Closer to $4k is what your average insurance would be in most of the companies I write with.
Re-evaluate your choices. I'd say a nice used BMW R1150R, Suzuki Bandit 1200 or Katana 750, or maybe a Kawasaki ZRX are in the neighborhood of what you need vs what you want. Reality is you need a simple Trimph Thruxton to play with for about two solid 5000-8000 mile seasons. But what the hell do I know? I've only been doing this riding thing for 27yrs now. And the insurance thing only goes back 9 yrs. I could be completely wrong about my analysis. - Hey, did I spell that right?

![]() What, 'analysis'? Shure!
But, guys, we're dealing with an (advertised, at least) 18 year old male. All he is reading is, "Blah, blah, motorcycle, blah blah, power, blah blah, 1000cc..." With the occasional lapse of concentration to think about 'ginch', as Snarli calls it. -
