2nd last para in the motorcycle news article:

"This bike was snapped at a filling station during tests in Germany. When the bike makes its official debut in September, expect to see new graphics and paint to highlight the redesign."

probably why motorrad had it first...

Still no dual headlights... Can I help design new Honda's??? I'll use a little common sense and easily increase their sportbike sales!

What a stupid headlight! The low beam will still look absolutely rediculous... just like the current 929. Honda will also just BARELY increase their power output say they can "just barely keep up" with the rest of the pack. That should by Honda's new slogan...... "Honda..... just barely keeping up!!!!". Knockin the competition on their a$$ like Suzuki did would be nice.

By the way, I'm a "Hondaholic" and truely love Hondas... I'm just sick of them -footin around. What happened to "performance first"?

Oh, well.

Not only that, shouldn't they dump this bike already! This is basically a revamp of a 7 year old design (I think the first one came out in '94 - it might even be older than that). The reason the R1 and GSXR1000 are so successful is that they are new and cutting edge - Honda is just tarting up the same old crap and hoping to shift them out to punters who know no better. Last time around they added 29 extra cc's and hoped to dupe us into buying them. What is up with Honda - did they build so many of them they are going to be recycling them for the next 10 years? Or (more likely) did they stop development and rest on their laurels when the first 900R came out so that they missed the boat as the Yamaha and Suzuki went flying past ? Put them with Kawasaki in flogging a dead horse based on an old platform.

Default Choices, choices!

Wow, so many excellent choices for a 2002 model bike! Redesigned 929RR, what's rumored to be an amazing R1 redesign and the present GSX-R1000... Too many choices! I think I'll have fun choosing one though.

I owned a Honda 900RR Fireblade in the UK, and then bought a new 1996 CBR900RR in the US. Traded that one in for a 1999 R1. I haven't ridden a GSXR1000 but believe what everyone else says about them being better than an R1.

I like it. Definitely sharper and more aggressive looking. Now if they can just get rid of all the goofy stripes and graphics, and make it available in solid colors (one reason why Ducatis look so luscious), it would be much better. Have you seen the new Gilera 600 on motorcyclenews today? That's what I'm talking about.

I think that honda better stop messin around, If they wanted they could shut down all of the other manufactures, and since they are building the v5 they should just stick that thing in the new bike, all it is is 3, 150cc cylenders from there 600 in the front and 2, 225cc from there 900 in the back. Get rid of the black frame too!

Default Posers BeWare

It seems as though a lot of people forgot about the open-class shootout posted on this very site. The 929's greatest attribute is that it manuevers like a 600 with quite a bit more kick in the a--. In fact, only thing that really separated the other bikes from the was the lack of "open class" horsepower.

Now enter 2002 with what is still the most flickable open classer on the market with a 10-15 horsepower kick in the a-- and you've got next year's winner.

Styling!!, I love it and can't wait to park one in my garage, all the guys I ride with own R1's and yet I still kill'em in the turns on my CBR F4. Why? Because only posers judge a bike horsepower.

Hey, Metzler please make a 190 Rennsport for this!!!!!!
