"Cleaning up" the gene pool is what people don't wanna deal with... I'm all for Darwin's theory playing itself out, but when squids go down and "society" needs to break out the spatula to scrape the remains off the road, it costs "our community." So, people like hearing about the po-lice stopping it before it happens.
And yet, our society doesn't want a race track built within 200 miles of their property either. Ironic. |

Well, there are a couple of choices. One can continue to live in that filthy city and take one's lumps. Or one can move to some place that's far less impacted and ride roads that are nearly empty.
My brother has offered me a job in LA that pays nearly twice what I make here. I'm not the least bit tempted. Go back to that overcrowded shythole? Ha!

Yeah, but "our community" doesn't really give a damn, does it? Sell bikes, sell magazines, sell accessories, whatever. I read an ad in the British mag "Bike" for back protectors that claimed every week 2 bikers winds up in a wheelchair. That's a horrible statistic if true and should have someone in the UK mounting some kind of safety campaign.
The truth of the matter is the sport bikes of today are insanely overpowered and beyond the capabilites of most riders. Yet the mags cry for more power, and complain bitterly if there is only a small increase in power from the previous model oblivious to the impossibility of ever increasing HP the situation in MotoGP today not withstanding. |
