Remember, if he's treated "like any member of the public without the benefit of high-priced attorneys" he will get off with a slap on the wrist just like ordinary people do. If he was drunk, it would be worse, much worse, but since he was straight, he'll serve minimal time, if any. In this case, if the judge, jury, and lawyers involved are true to what usually happens when non-celebrities kill bikers in a right of way violation, he will get off basically scott-free---maybe with a felony conviction, but no time in jail. Or a plea for a lesser, non felony conviction and also no time. This is one case where, if he is punished to the maximum the law allows, celebrity will have backfired and indeed he will not be treated as you and I would have been. Yes, he should be hung up by his balls until dead, but that's not justice American style.
