I'll bet. You want a bike that doesn't weigh less than the average union boilerman.

What are they weighing in at these days? 550-600lbs? Don't they weigh more in the winter?

That would be too uncomfortably close to the idea of "work".

About the only tools I use these days are the phone and computer writing up work orders and scheduling contractors and plant coverage. I can't say I miss working on boilers though, filthy nasty things, everything weighs a ton, it either burns you or it's cold and wet, and it kills your knees crawling around inside them.....

I'll stick to supervising, thank you very much.

You were talking about working on the boilers during the summer. What does a boiler do besides provide heat in a building? Drive turbines and such? Just curious.

I never said that dirty four-letter word. You Apologize RIGHT NOW!

Where is he gonna carry his between-lunch snacks, if not in the toolbelt?

You can keep a submarine sandwich or two under the flap of flab that hangs over your belt. Just lift 'er up and tuck it in!

... a union boss, but he's right about not wanting to hang around boilers any more than he has to. I hated even going into the boiler room to change light bulbs at sea. 800F superheated steam when the outside air temperature is 100F makes for a pretty miserable watch.
