It looks like this is going to be a really interesting season!

For a so called, out dated and underpowered design the Duc's sure are doing well!

Go Duc!!!!

I think you're confusing the Ducati Superbike with the MotoGP bike.

The MotoGP bike is a V4 and has always been at the top of the charts regarding power and top speed.

The Superbike keeps up with the best from Japan utilizing two fewer cylinders. And they say the Japanese are the best engineers! ha!

I'm often confused!

I'm fairly new at following MotoGP, and still learning.

You're correct I was thinking this was the same twin that they run in Superbikes.

I went to the Ducati site and found the following specs for the "GP6" engine.

"Desmosedici GP6

989 cc Liquid cooled

90 Degree v4

235 HP @ 16,500 RPM

100Nm (10.2 Kg) of torque @ 14,000 RPM"

Comments say the Desmosedici revs higher than any other Desmodromic engine.

Way cool!!!!

That is interesting. Noticed that Kenny Roberts was 15th with the KRHonda!! That was quick or I haven't been paying attention.

Is KRHonda the official name? Is Kenny the only rider on the team?

I just dig the fact that Vale burnt Sete again by saying he'd never be at the top of the speed charts again in testing. The little Italian has BIG [email protected]

KR211V I believe is the offical name. Kenny Jr is turning times faster than last years race (But so is everyone else). I hope to see them on the top of the charts next season..

What is up with those two anyway? Did Gibernau accidentally step on Vale's gerbil or what?

Last year I recall the announcers joking about the tiff that these two were having. Then in interviews, when asked about the whole thing both would just talk in circles and not really give a straight answer.

What's the deal?

It got bad last year after Dubai, when Sete's team accused Rossi's team of "cleaning" his place on the starting grid (not allowed). Rossi was made to start from the back, was 4th (I think) after one or two laps, then he crashed. He has been mad at Sete ever since.

Default V-Twins are dead in Racing :) just kidding sort of

Buz is giving the Ducati Twins in WSBK too much credit.. Though they have dominated it for decades. Last season the rules were evened up and the inline Japanese 4s kicked Ducatis butt. Rumors from my Bike (England) magazine say a Duc V-4 street bike in WSBk for 07 season. Though I read an interview with a Duc official said the V-Twin will be back In any case I secretly lust for Buz's Duc ST...Can't beat that Ducati sound.. and style...
