Harley or Indian? Which American Iron Icon is Right for You?

Two weeks ago we attempted: Indian vs Harley, Five Ways to Pick the Motorcycle That’s Right For You, and that was kind of fun. But it didn’t really delve much into the psychology of the thing much more than to observe that the love of any motorcycle is a more subjective thing than most major purchases.

Indians seem to be winning most of our comparison tests lately, where we attempt complete objectivity. But it’s always a close-fought battle, and unfortunately, our criteria can’t include the non-numerical emotional attachment lots of people feel for their motorcycles. In fact, unless it’s a Livewire or an FTR you’re after, your choice of Indian or Harley might have as much to do with your personality as it does the motorcycle. There really are no bad motorcycles anymore, just wrong motorcycles for individual humans. In the interest of making the world a better place to live, we came up with a little quiz to help you decide which is right for you. Click, cogitate, and comment.

Chicago is a hole of which nothing good comes out of!

I got Harley and it’s the one I’d pick until Indian gets with the program and offers mid controls as a standard option.

Harley Davidson. It will be my first bike away from the loving, reliable arms of Japan and it WILL have a carburetor.
