EICMA 2018: Milan Motorcycle Show Coverage
Get ready for Model Year 2019s big reveals
The Model Year 2019 show season is fully underway, and so far, we’ve seen some exciting news. It began in Intermot with the unveiling of new models from Aprilia, Ducati, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, and Triumph. Then the focus turned to Las Vegas, NV, and the AIMExpo where Motorcycle.com was on-hand to witness the unveiling of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and other offerings from the motorcycle industry as a whole.
But that’s all Old News. Now, the worldwide motorcycle directs its attention to Milan, Italy, where the largest motorcycle in the known universe is about to take place. The 2018 EICMA Show should have plenty of surprises in store for motorcycle fans. The schedule starts on Sunday with the Ducati pre-show announcements and then moves on to Yamaha on Monday. Then in Tuesday’s wee hours in the US, your favorite text MOnkeys will be up sorting through all of the announcements from Milan to bring the very best to you.

Like most of the best happenings in his life, Evans stumbled into his motojournalism career. While on his way to a planned life in academia, he applied for a job at a motorcycle magazine, thinking he’d get the opportunity to write some freelance articles. Instead, he was offered a full-time job in which he discovered he could actually get paid to ride other people’s motorcycles – and he’s never looked back. Over the 25 years he’s been in the motorcycle industry, Evans has written two books, 101 Sportbike Performance Projects and How to Modify Your Metric Cruiser, and has ridden just about every production motorcycle manufactured. I thought BMW announced six products today and that Kymco presented an all-electric motorbike. Was that incorrect?
Since Trizzle is (rightfully) such a fan of mini bikes, I am surprised not to read of the CB125M and CB125X here - surprised and disappointed.
Then there's KTM's 690 SMC. Why no mention of that?
