My son had a Yamaha Virago which would run for a while and stop. After cooling off, it would run for a while. etc., etc., etc. Above dealership checked it out and said a dead cell in battery. Charged $70 to check it out. Put a new battery in it . When my son got home, it wouldn't start. Called ... Dan, who was in charge of shop. Oh yeah, and named a 'few' other things that needed to be fixed, none of which had been mentioned previously. I did not have the several hundred dollars requisite to fix problems and battery could not be returned. BBB wasn't any help. Their one question was-what do you want me to do? The owners response was similar. What occurred might not be considered illegal but was obviously immoral and decidedly NOT good business practice. Especially if repeat trade keeps a business going.
