Editorial Staff

Evans Brasfield / Editor-in-Chief

Editorial Staff - Evans Brasfield

Like most of the best happenings in his life, Evans stumbled into his motojournalism career. While on his way to a planned life in academia, he applied for a job at a motorcycle magazine, thinking he’d get the opportunity to write some freelance articles. Instead, he was offered a full-time job in which he discovered he could actually get paid to ride other people’s motorcycles – and he’s never looked back. Over the 25 years he’s been in the motorcycle industry, Evans has written two books, 101 Sportbike Performance Projects and How to Modify Your Metric Cruiser, and has ridden just about every production motorcycle manufactured. Evans has a deep love of motorcycles and believes they are a force for good in the world.

John Burns / Sr. Content Editor

Editorial Staff - John Burns

John’s been writing about motorcycles since 1988, when he miraculously landed his first “motojournalism” job and moved to California. Tragically, apart from one five-year detour in the advertising business, he’s never managed to progress beyond riding, writing about, and having motorcycle-propelled adventures in the ensuing 30 years. Before the www, he worked for all three major US print magazines (now down to two), then returned to MO (for the second time!) in 2014. Time flies when you’re having fun.

Troy Siahaan / Road Test Editor

Editorial Staff - Troy Siahaan

A 12-year veteran of the moto-journalism community (and counting!), Motorcycle.com’s Road Test Editor Troy Siahaan is one of the rare breed who actually went to school to become a journalist. It only took him 14 years to get a four-year degree, but in that time “Trizzle” has ridden nearly every motorcycle under the sun. A road racer at heart, Troy’s humble beginnings racing a clapped-out Suzuki SV650 – where he finished dead last in his first attempt – have led to opportunities to ride or race some of the most advanced sportbikes on the planet (with much better results). Triz isn’t just a sportbike guy, though – his love for motorcycles runs far and wide, from Harleys to Vespas and everything in between.

Ryan Adams / Managing Editor

Editorial Staff - Ryan Adams

Ryan’s time in the motorcycle industry has revolved around sales and marketing prior to landing a gig at Motorcycle.com. An avid motorcyclist, interested in all shapes, sizes, and colors of motorized two-wheeled vehicles, Ryan brings a young, passionate enthusiasm to the digital pages of MO.

Dennis Chung / Production Editor

Editorial Staff - Dennis Chung

Dennis has more than a decade of experience in covering the motorcycle industry, joining the Motorcycle.com team out of journalism school. Working out of MO’s northern outpost in Toronto, Canada, Dennis keeps track of the latest trends and developments in the motorcycling world while supporting his L.A.-based brethren. Dennis is also our resident expert on patent and trademark filings, helping to uncover what motorcycle manufacturers are working on before its officially announced.

Sean Matic / Video Content Producer

Editorial Staff - Sean Matic

Sean’s first conscious awareness of motorcycles was watching Mike Bell on TV float through the air to win the “Superbowl of Motocross” in the LA Coliseum – a young boy’s mind was officially blown! As luck would have it a short time later a family move put Sean just a block away from a dirt bike riding family of three brothers. A first ride on a 3 speed clutch-less Honda and Sean was hooked. A life long love of all things motorized and two wheeled blossomed. The seed for a love of visual story telling was planted a few years earlier when his father agreed, perhaps unwisely, to film a super 8 movie of Sean and his friends jumping each other’s prone bodies on their department store bought BMX bikes. After teenage years racing amateur motocross in New York, a zoology degree from the University of Hawaii, a bit of travel, and pursuing a career in acting in New York City, aspirations of more abundant meaningful work on the silver screen brought Sean to Los Angeles. After booking a few commercials, micro budget indy films, and stint on General Hospital, 2 wheel lady luck would intervene again with a few motorcycle on camera jobs with some of Sean’s racing heroes like Kevin Schwartz, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Ward and hosting a show on the SPEED channel riding Harley’s from coast to coast. A writer’s strike, a recession, perhaps a few too many hours spent stuck in traffic on cross town castings, and that old interest in story telling led Sean back behind the camera creating content on motorcycles. Like many motorcycling industry unions Sean’s professional relationship with the MO team began with a chance encounter at the racetrack and a shared love for spreading the 2 Wheeled Gospel.
