4. Cool Factor

Being cool is as subjective as it gets. Your idea of cool may be a stretched and slammed ’Busa with a ridiculously large rear wheel and a $10k paint job, or maybe it’s a 1975 R90/6 with an open-face helmet and smoking a pipe. In my book the RC213V-S is cool for most of the reasons listed in this Top 10: It’s expensive, exclusive, hand-built, valuable, high-performance, inspires desire and jealousy, and it’d definitely boost my personal narcissism (see #2).

yeah, um no… I still can’t come up 1 reason

You mentioned riding on public roads….let’s say obit the bike and a year from now I have a messup on the street. How long I would have to wait for HRC to hand craft the parts. This would be a museum bike.
It’s irrelevant to 99.9% of the riders and traders out there. Why are we still talking about it?

Every one of these except #7 (Performance) and #3 (Investment) are just different ways of saying “it caters to your ego”. And really, it can be argued that #7 does as well unless you have the professional level skills needed to actually exploit the bike beyond the limits of something less than 10% of it’s price.

Meh, whatever; go ahead and keep mining this largely inconsequential bike for all the page hits you can.

Well T-rod, I have a feeling you compiled this list with your tongue in your cheek. Allow me to continue that theme:

“Yep, add money and I’m an instant rich asshole.”

Ahem, but for now you’ll remain a poor asshole.

I wonder how they are going to get the thing insured except for liability? I would imagine the thought of a $100+K loss if you toss the thing would seriously crimp the fun factor.

    11) sheer engineering excellence.
I am still drooling over the front end.
There are many many people who will spend this sort of cash on their passions. Think, Boating,Trucks, Horses, jewelry etc etc. I get that most motorcycle enthusiasts are shewed towards the young. But the mere ownership of a motorcycle is , surely, a sign that passion has entered into the decision making process. Therefore rejoice that this piece of exotica even exists,

paint it purple with yellow flames. yeah.

    Not one reason counts.
