  • I love my 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe
By Roberta Fogg (I am an Owner) on Jul 16, 2023

I bought my 2006 in June 2010, with 2200 miles on it. Just returned from a 2 week motorcycle vacation from Northern Maine to Washington DC and Gettysburg PA. I have put just over 30,000 mile's on my bike as of this year. I love this bike, it's my 4th since getting my license in 2006. The only ...

  • My favorite bike
By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 31, 2018

I've owned 13 bikes in my 44 years: 11 within the past 6 years. In 2013, I got a new Road Star from my local dealer and owned it about a year before trading on something else. Last year, 2017, I wanted to get another large white bike and came across my Royal Star. I really didn't think I wanted ...

  • Finally a bike that makes me look forward to open highways
By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 07, 2016

I bought this 2006 this spring with 29K miles. It had a Ultimate seat and back rest installed and with the cruise control makes it a real highway machine. I sold a Honda 2003 ST-1300 after I found this bike. Maybe not as much of a sporty ride but by far a much more comfortable ride. Took a bit to ...

Bought this bike new in 2006 and love everything about it except the whine. I've added Hoppe fairing with a killer stereo,cd,sirius radio and ipod,Harley King Tour Pak with luggage rack and just about all the chrome that they make.

  • The Cadillac of bikes.
By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 06, 2013

I have been riding for over 40 years and for the last 15 I have solely ridden my Tour Deluxe. I was wounded in the back and legs during the Vietnam era and was afraid that I could never ride again. I can, I do and I love Yamaha. The TDeluxe actually relieves pain in my back and legs. My average ...

  • Fuel mileage 06 Tour deluxe
By  (I am an Owner) on May 18, 2010

To the gentleman who likes his bike with the exception of the Bubb exhaust, I have them on mine and no trouble getting 180-200 miles on a tank of fuel. That will change soon as it is getting a Hannigan trike kit installed.

  • A good deal even when purchased used.
By  (I am an Owner) on Mar 17, 2010

I bought my Royal Star used in June of 09, it replaced my 1980 cb 900. Its like riding a dream, rode nearly everyday in upstate NY into early November. Absolutely no complaints and and would highly recommend this bike.

I've been riding for for over 30 years. Everything from HD, Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha. I bought an 2006 Royal Star Midnight Tour Deluxe over year ago and it is the BEST bike I have ever riden. It's a monster but it rides like a cadilac and manuvers like a smaller bike. The only time it has ...

  • Great on a trip or around town
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 03, 2009

I really like the comfort, power and handling of this bike whether on a long trip (1300 miles last month), or a Sunday drive. At low speeds the bike is harder to handle, but over 10 mph the bike handles very well with the high center of gravity. Remove the windshield and the back rest is seconds, ...

  • still good after 14,000 miles
By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 17, 2009

I love my bike. I have done some great trips on it. 1 solo 2000 mile trip and a recent 900 mile trip with my wife. I added a CORBIN DUEL TOURING seat with both back rests, a smaller windshield, front light bar and a bubs exhaust system. I would do it all again except for the bubs. I get horrible ...

It is heavy as hell but smooth as silk . My wife can move around in the back and it's all good. It also starts every time and is quite fast . I think the bubs actually helped with that a good amount.

if i were to do it again, i would get either a harley with a front fairing, or a venture. I am craving that radio and ipod!! but for now, i am very happy with my purchase and look forward to many more long rides on this great bike!!!

  • Good Bike
By  (I am an Owner) on Dec 26, 2008

    I love my Tour Deluxe.

It's very smooth, and quiet. It carries a large load with no problems. With the air adj front and rear shocks, it is easy to change ride hight with load changes. The factory cruise control is just great. I love this bike.

Now, the drawbacks. It is heavy. However ...

The engine is a V4 with a 5 speed. 5th gear is Very Tall. Great for cruising. If you need to pull 90 to get around a truck, you must use 4th. You can do well over 100 in 4th.

With a V4 1300, a v twin 1600 will still out pull you up an on ramp.

All in all, it's by far the nicest bike i've owned to date. If they through in a 6th gear, it would be perfect.

By  (I am an Enthusiast) on Aug 28, 2008

This bike is a monster! Not only for the size but also with the sound and everything. It's really smooth though. Best one ever and good value for your money!
