Good Bike

I love my Tour Deluxe.

It's very smooth, and quiet. It carries a large load with no problems. With the air adj front and rear shocks, it is easy to change ride hight with load changes. The factory cruise control is just great. I love this bike.

Now, the drawbacks. It is heavy. However the factory ...crash bars hold the bike up quite well. The bike has far better cornering capabilities than it has ground clearance so you must pay attention to what your doing.
The engine is a V4 with a 5 speed. 5th gear is Very Tall. Great for cruising. If you need to pull 90 to get around a truck, you must use 4th. You can do well over 100 in 4th.
With a V4 1300, a v twin 1600 will still out pull you up an on ramp.
All in all, it's by far the nicest bike i've owned to date. If they through in a 6th gear, it would be perfect.

Love it!!

I've been riding for for over 30 years. Everything from HD, Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha. I bought an 2006 Royal Star Midnight Tour Deluxe over year ago and it is the BEST bike I have ever riden. Great on a trip or around town

I really like the comfort, power and handling of this bike whether on a long trip (1300 miles last month), or a Sunday drive. At low speeds the bike is harder to handle, but over 10 mph the bike handles very well with the high center of gravity. Remove the windshield and the back rest is seconds, an...d you have an all out cruiser that is even more fun to drive. still good after 14,000 miles

I love my bike. I have done some great trips on it. 1 solo 2000 mile trip and a recent 900 mile trip with my wife. I added a CORBIN DUEL TOURING seat with both back rests, a smaller windshield, front light bar and a bubs exhaust system. I would do it all again except for the bubs. I get horribl...e milage. I can go maybe 130 to 140 miles on a tank and that is pushing it to the limit.

It is heavy as hell but smooth as silk . My wife can move around in the back and it's all good. It also starts every time and is quite fast . I think the bubs actually helped with that a good amount.

if i were to do it again, i would get either a harley with a front fairing, or a venture. I am craving that radio and ipod!! but for now, i am very happy with my purchase and look forward to many more long rides on this great bike!!! Read Full Review
