I love my r6
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 14, 2012I have been riding since I was 10 but, I've never been on anything with this kind of power.I'm a short guy (5'5")and thought getting my foot on the ground would be a problem.I set my suspention for 35mm sag at both ends and, while I can't flat foot its comfortable enough.once my feet are on the pegs, ... the bike fits like a glove.I'm quckly becoming a fan of the ergos as they offer exccelent control of the bike.as far as the reviews online go, please dont think that any of these bikes are soft in anyway! even the slowest supersport will bite the hand that tweeks it.its like compairing mountains. yes one is taller than the other but, if you climb either one,.. your still ontop of the world.so thats my begginer warning.other than power, the bike handles great.when you initiate turn in ittracks perfectly.it will go were you point it without needing alot input mid corner and, it banks like an airplane.the breaks are perfect.they are just powerful enough to be dangerous if you grab em to fast wich I like. it forces you to remain calm in an emergency stop.front end feel is great. you have alot of warning before you loose grip at either contact patch.Yes.... it looks incredible also.so thats it. my r6 is my passion.safe riding everyone.

DR6
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 08, 2012This is my second motorcycle. My first one is just a kawasaki 150cc. I sold it right after i have keep enough money to buy yamaha r6.
From the looks, it will surely make other mid and super sportbike looks old and lame. Even B&w built their 1000cc machine look just like yamaha R6. check that ... out and you will notice that.
This bike will be fun to ride if you go fast. if you ride slow, the engine's heat will increase and the fan will blow the hot air right trough you thight. thats is unconfortable. Anyway, this happen to all big cc motorcycle. They are built to go fast.
This bike will go wild when you have reached 8000rpm and can accelerate until 170++mile. It has not end yet.
If you are considering in buying it. Just do it. you will not regrads it. Or the best are to ride them all and make your own comparison.

hell of a ride
By (I am an Owner) on May 28, 2011The 2009 R6 is by far my favorite bike. It is built for comfort and speed. all though it doesn't have much power in the bottom end, once it hits the power band around 10,000 RPM it instantly snaps to attention and roars with a high pitch scream that will dominate any opposers. Generally the power ... of the top end would make beginners scarce of taking those harsh turns but once gripped to the asphault this bike sticks like glue.
The best feature that I have found is the new and much approved look. This bike screams speed and the huge intercooler tha is visibly shown behind the front tire shows that this bike is ment to be on a track.
I would suggest this bike to any enthusiast no matter if you are just a casual rider or an adrenaline junky like myself.

Awesome Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 04, 2010I recently upgraded from a KAWASAKI 250R. To this bad boy. Wow. Talk about a big leap in power, handling, and the need for speed. Just kidding i am not the racing type, especially on public roads. I driven the bike for 1 month now. I am very impressed. I am glad i rode the slower bike first, so you ... can get better at handling the bike but also become confident rider. Great Bike. I LOVE THE ORANGE LOOK

The best upgrade
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 29, 2010I bought my first bike last summer and it was a Kawasaki Ninja 250, and it was an excellent bike for a beginner, but after I learned how to ride, and wanted to go faster than 110, I needed something with more power. A month ago I bought a Yamaha R6, and it is awesome. I love the control, the power, ... the speed, and damn it's pretty!!

Great Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 09, 2010The title says it all. I bought the R6 three days ago and absolutely love it. It dives into corners with ease, and is definitely not afraid to challenge any other bike on the street. If your an agressive rider like me you'll love it.
I don't recomment it for a beginner unless they're ... planning on staying under 10000 rpm. Because after that it takes some experience to keep it under control.
I'm still in the "breaking it in" phase and can feel every bit of power. As far as "lack of torque". Its a 600, if you want mass torque get the r1 with the new crossplane crankshaft. But as far as feeling the horses, this is more than enough bike for anyone that's not a professional track mongul.

perfect
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 08, 2010i had always wanted a Yamaha r6 but i had to wait til i turned 18 so as soon as i did i went out and got a 2009 yzf r6 i have had my bike for about a year and ive loved every second of it. this bike met all my wants. stock the bike is fast!! faster than the other 600's now ive put on a new Exhaust ... changed the sprocket in the front installed a power commander and done some wait reduction talk about crazy fast the power commander really helps with the sorta slow take off which would be the only downfall of the bike but the top end really makes up for it so if your looking for a bike stop looking and start riding this is the bike you want

By (I am an Owner) on Jan 01, 2010This bike is a dream. The handling is awesome and amazing power over 10k. Also looks great, get lots of looks. I go out with people on there 1000cc and rip them in the corners, right up there on the straights and love the way it screams. MUST BUY!!!!

First Sport Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 25, 2009I have owned many bikes from motocross to large cruisers. Just amazing the handling and power this machine has. Getting back on a monoshock also has it's advantages. I thought by design the ride would be uncomfortable but not at all for me but the passenger finds it a little different compared to ... the sofabed my midnight venture had on it lol! Only thing I find hard getting use to at first here is with my size 12 foot getting use to the shifter. All in all tho I enjoy the ride. Insurance cost also is good.

Great Bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 14, 2009Although I have ridden many motorcycles (off-road and street legal)this is the first street legal motorcycle I have ever own. Everything from the performance to the handeling to the styling of this bike has me very impressed. The 2009 YZF-R6 is super quick with a very aggressive stance that just ... begs to be driven. The only down side I have noticed about the R6 goes along with just about every 600cc bike out there, a lot of shifting, especially downshifting to keep the RPM's where you want them. I would highly recomend this motorcycle to anyone from novice up to expert, it is just plain fun to ride.

SWEET!
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 23, 2009Its my first sportbike ever and I have no problem riding it. It does lack some power in the lower rpm's but, when you get the engine moving you had better be holding on! Its a rocket. I'm 5'8" and comfort has not been an issue for me. I do alot of riding in town and have not had an issue with that ... either. Saw one in a magazine in 06 when they started producing the new R6 and have wanted one ever since. Just now been able to own one.

cannot complain about this bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 06, 2009i'd have to say i agree about the lack of lower rpm power. it takes such a little time to get to 8000rpms when your really twisting the throttle. and once your there, its a rocket. in no possible way could you consider this bike slow. its light and easily thrown into turns. i havent done any mods ... other than a fender eliminator kit just cause the stock rear end looks like poop. hotbodies racing makes a good one but kind of expensive. maybe i dont know what im talking about, after all this is my first bike. but my personal honest opinion is the low end torque and power is a little sub par. but like i said, in no way is this a slow or weak 600. the power just doesnt kick in as early as some other 600's of past and present. i havent gone faster than 110 just cause i feel like living. but based on reviews done by a credible website, its got the second highest top end speed of all 2009 600's. very track friendly they say too, i think it had the best track time combined.that info is on www.motorcycle-usa.com..... thats neither here nor there if you ask me cause theres no tracks where i live and honestly on these streets in southwest florida, where old farts are very likely to pull out in front of you, i have no reason to even go 100+mph let alone top speed.. its definately great to know you CAN go that fast but i dont abuse the power cause ive known many people die from speeding on their bikes around here. wheelies are easy to pop on this bike once you get used to it, without clutch i dont like to clutch it up. well sorry for a long rambling review but thats my opinion and dont let negative reviews scare you away from this bike. its fast, powerful and probably the best looking 600s made.

2009 R6
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 09, 2009I really like the new 2009 R6, I am 6ft-5in tall and this bike is still comftorable, it also has the tallest seat of any 600cc at 34 inches tall. I also really like the look of it, and the turning is very responsive when riding. It is also nice that the 2009 R6 is for now the fastest 600 in production! ...

Great bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 21, 2009I sold my Honda 929RR Erion Racing Edition about a year ago and decided to buy another bike. I looked at the 600RR and the GSXRs but I really liked the R6. Handling is amazing! You can throw it into any turn with ease and the bike just takes it! I'm 6' tall and it's still fairly comfortable. ... This bike really moves after you get it up past 10k rpms. The best part about this bike is that it inspires confidence! I love my R6 and I would def. recommend it to anyone looking for a sport bike.

Phenominal
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 24, 2009This is my second 600cc sportbike I have owned. I used to own a 2005 Honda CBR600RR and this new R6 is better in most aspects.
The only MAJOR diffenece I made to the bike was 1 tooth down in the front sprocket.
The bike out handles my former bike and with speed. I now ... have issues keeping the front end down sometimes from just the shear power of the bike.
The only thing that the R6 lacks is the initial power, the low end torque.
After the power band reaches 8000 RPM to 9000 RPM the nike just comes alive.
I recommend this bike to everyone. The bike, in my opinion is even more comfortable than my CBR was. I can ride longer and harder on the R6 than I ever could on the CBR.
