The bike I should have had all along...

This is the perfect commuter bike for me. It's tiny, yet powerful and stable. it gets great gas mileage and handles extremely well. It is the first two-wheeled vehicle that I have found melds perfectly with me, is an extension of my body as it flies down the road. It will do 55, but it is happie...st at 40-45, which constitutes the majority of my 16-mile commute. I do recommend the windscreen, as it cuts down on the wind pressure on your chest as you ride.

I have had many different bikes, this is by far the best I have yet owned, and I see myself riding this tiny powerhouse for the foreseeable future. Read Full Review

Careful Please

My wife recently bought a new Vino and loved scooting around town. As has been written elsewhere on the web, while attempting to slow down under emergency braking while in traffic, the bike started to get squirrely, wobbled and went down. Please be VERY careful. Even though she had ridden motorcy...cles for 15 years, scooters are a different animal. Reviewer elsewhere noted the same phenomenon on his Vino. It wobbles and can get away from you under hard braking conditions. We're selling the scooter after only 100 miles on the clock. Wife is recovering from all fingers broken on one hand, double arm fracture on the other arm and over 50 stitches. It's a cool scooter - just be aware. Buy and wear full safety gear! This is just abt a perfect scoot in every way but one: the daft position of the filler cap - right under where you've stored your strap-ons for a weekend away. Or where you've just loaded your excess bag of groceries.

How the tall-domes at Yamaha came up with that one, no idea.

Otherwise, this is... one great design, first-rate braking and roadhandling, excellent finish, good zip up to 45mph, and one helluva lot of fun to drive. Read Full Review

EXTRA - CAREFUL PLEASE, PLEASE

My 17 year old son bought a Y125V in November 2008 and, 15 minutes later on the drive home it began to wobble with him, he lost control and is now a paraplegic. He had grown up on dirt bikes.
