2009 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic

I really like this bike. I have my doubts about taking a long trip on it though. I don't know If the motor will handle 70 MPH for days on in. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. My email is mwavant2006@yahoo.com.

This is my 4th bike in the last 3 years, trying to figure out which bike was just right for me. This is definitely the one.

I bought a new 2009 V-Star 1100 Silverado in August 2008. I have ridden the bike a little over 3000 miles thus far, and am pleased with the results. The bike has plenty of low end torque. At high speeds, the engine has more noticable vibration and little reserve power. Fuel mileage is not as ... good as I would like...I'm getting about 40 MPG (city/highway). The seat is uncomfortable after a couple of hours on the cycle. The passenger seat is especially uncomfortable for my wife. I love the looks of the bike and the way in which it handles. The bike corners well and seems to hold the road easily. Overall, a nice ride!

I've had my new V Star 1100 Classic for a little over 3 months. What I like most about this bike is that it looks good right out of the showroom and more importantly, it's a very smooth ride. Features that would be nice that aren't included are a fuel gage and sixth gear. I don't know how many times ... I've run out of juice going up a hill and had to throw over to reserve. That could be a bad deal if passing. Again, the bike is sharp and you can really mold the V Stars into your own custom bike. Just have plenty of extra cash. The bike has plenty of low and mid range torque. On the high speed end it has nothing. Very typical. I would have purchased the 1300 had I know this. It's still a good ride once you figure out how it behaves at all speed regimes. I'm currently thinking about a Road Star or a Suzuki m90 or m109. Just know what kind of power you want out of you new bike!
