  • Raider
By  (I am an Owner) on Dec 19, 2017

I own a 2008 Yamaha Raider (purchased new in 2009). They were hard to find at that time.

I have ridden from Houston, TX to Sturgis, SD 6 times on this bike. It is bullet proof. I've had literally no problems with this bike. It has plenty of torque when riding 2 up and it's a fun ...

Cruise control and bags would be nice for longer rides, but I didn't originally buy it for touring. Due to the front end design it does lean (a lot) on turns. -part of the character of the bike.

  • Peanut Gas Tank
By  (I am an Owner) on Oct 20, 2009

I bought the Raider when it first came out and love the bike. My complaint is the gas tank, only 4.1 gal tank for such a big engine. Star could have least made it a 5.0 gallon, that would have helped some on the miles. Sucks when your riding with other bikes who have 6.0 gallons and i need to stop ...

Initially i had decided to go with a Harley Street Bob but then i found my way to the Raider and i fell in ...

  • Outstanding
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 18, 2008

I have owned the Raider S in blue for about four months. I get the looks and complements from auto operators and motorcyclists. The Harley guys look like they don't believe any rice bike could look better than their Harleys. I drilled holes in the rear of exhaust to get a Harley-like sound, but ...

  • Makes Harleys feel like mopeds!!!!
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 12, 2008

Great bike!! Loads of power and torque, great ride. Breaks are outstanding. I upgraded the exhaust and it sounds amazing. I rode my buddies '08 H-D RoadKing and it doesn't hold a candle to the Raider!
