First bike 05 1100
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 10, 2013Great bike, but remember this is a medium size cruiser built for cruising at moderate highway speeds. I'm 5'9 180 and the bike did fine with me by myself . With 2 up at 300 lbs the bike does work somewhat going uphill on steep inclines, passing big trucks, and strong crosswinds are noticeable with ... this bike on the highway. These are excellent bikes that will give you miles of worry free enjoyment, but respect its limitations and medium size. Expect about 45-50 mpg at 60mph with 1or 2 up. 5 years of owning one and only replaced the starter and regular maintenance. I have have upgraded to a bigger bike (1900 stratoliner), because it was time. I would highly recommend this bike to a beginner (or an experienced one). This size of bike will give you time to grow into it (rather than grow out of it with a smaller one) and give you the skills you will need without too much intimidation. Learn to ride it...stay away from all the accessories (except for a nice aftermarket seat) and save your money for a bigger bike that you can truly enjoy once you become more experienced if you choose. I bought mine used with 2300 miles on it and put over 10,000 miles on it. Great bike and would highly recommend it.

First Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 07, 2009I bought this used motorcycle since this is my first. It is small and light and easy to handle while I learn to ride and get more experience. Limitations are power with the 650cc engine, gearing would be better with another top gear and there is some vibration while riding on the roads at upper speed ... limits.
