Missunderstanding & Apology

I wrote a review yesterday trashing US Sales Coordinator Robert McKee. My bike has a ceased engine and is at a repair shop awaiting parts. The repair shop owner told me that Mr McKee promised certain parts to be delivered immediately that were on backorder. Those parts did not arrive, and I was info...rmed that a conversation with Mr Mckee found him to be uncooperative, a liar, and full of excuses. I know the shop owner and didn't think he would tell me something that wasn't true. Being very frustrated at this point and very angry (bike has been out of service for 6 weeks now), I wrote a review trashing the customer service of UM and particularly Mr McKee. I should have called him first, to find out the other side of the story, which I always do, but didn't this time. I had a very nice conversation with Mr McKee and it was explained that he is and has been more than willing to whatever it takes to get the remaining parts sent via air (approx 10 days) and would even find another shop to do the work free of charge. I would like to apologize for my original outburst and trashing of Robert McKee, and have found his customer service to be excellent. I would highly recommend UM Cycles, but would caution as to the availability of authorized repair shops.

Warrant, Parts, Customer Service

This is my first bike and have enjoyed it incredibly. The design, efficiency, and overall driveability of this machine is excellent.

However, I have recently had a bad experience with parts & customer service. It seems that UM Dealers are dropping like flies and to travel more than 200 miles to... find a dealer who will do the warranty work (or any work) is not just inconvenient, but rediculous.
My repair shop who works on Hyusung bikes, became a warranty repair shop for me and my brother who owns the same bike. The shop is over 1 hour away. They have been trying to get parts for my bike which has a blown engine (through no fault of mine). Some parts are backordered 2 months; among them, the crankshaft. The U.S. Sales Coordinator, Robert McKee, promised the repair shop, Open Road Cycles, Saugerties, NY, that he would get the backordered parts shipped with the entire order right away. The parts box arrived without the backordered parts. During the conversation between Open Road Cycles and Mr Mckee, he renegged on his promise and came up with all kinds of excuses that had nothing to do with obtaining and shipping the parts.
Mr Mckee was informed that the customer is unhappy and will complain about this. His response was I don't care and let him complain. He was very nasty to Open Road Cycles and then revoked his warranty status. Mr McKee has been nasty, uncaring, and unreasonable as a representative of UM throughout this process from the beginning. The parts are available at Hyusung and there is a complete motor available which would be cheaper to replace because of labor costs then just replacing parts. The cost if I were to pay out of pocket would be $2000.00. Since this is under warranty, I shouldn't have to pay anything, but now there is no one available to do the warranty work.
I am now without a bike which looks like indefinitely, since the bike is unreparable without the parts and a warranty dealer to work on it.
I will be contacting the Attorney General, Dept of Consumer Affairs, my attorney, and any other government agencies, including Dunn & Bradstreet about the appalling customer service conduct of this company.
The bike is great, but since the company refuses to stand behind their product properly, I will not recommend it to anyone and will start a campaign to force them out of business in the United States.

Fun little bike

This bike has very good pick up, and is excellent for around town, I'm roughly 205 lbs, and it maxes out at around 100 mph. While this is completely unnecessary around town, on those long trips with nobody else on the highway you really want (but don't need) more power from time to time. Read Full Review

250 cruising

The 250cc cruiser is great for around town. Great gas milage. Good low end, Good pep off the line, It can get out of it's own way. It can handle the highway but lets you know it's really a city commuter. If thats what your looking for it's great, I love mine. Read Full Review
