Nostalgic Yet Reliable
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 02, 2009I bought my 2009 Thuxton after specifically waiting for the fuel injection system. Yes, this is the first EFI Thruxton (and Bonneville), but Triumph has had the same EFI on their Speed America for years, lending to a reliable system without "first year" quirks. The Thruxton is not the fastest, but ... most people buy it to ride on legal streets and highways. 140mph is great on track days, but if you want that kind of speed, you need to look at the Daytona 675. The triumph is wind in hair- bugs in teeth fun and gives me a feeling of going back thru time to another era where the journey could be more fun than the destination. Besides, the whole reason bikes became popular in the beginning was individualism... and with so many Harleys on the road that look the same, why not try something different?
