Looks right, Feels right

The look of the bike grabs you from the start. Beautifully smooth lines, exposed engine with just enough shiny parts to remind you what motorcycles were meant to be. Triumph designed their cafe racer just right.



Power delivery is smooth. You won't want to race a Hayabusa, but you definitely won't... be disappointed either. That "little bit better than middle-of-the-road" seems to go for handling as well. The Thruxton doesn't shy away from corners, but it doesn't beg to get really low.

Ultimately, the Thruxton is a cafe racer's dream come true and I'm very happy and satisfied with it. I'm sure if I got a Bonneville and made the same modifications, I'd be spending a lot more (and void the warranty). One thing to remember is that it is not a sport bike with "throwback" looks. It is a lightweight cruiser heavily modified to perform better. That's what makes the Thruxton unique and pretty much the real deal.

There is a downside. The stock exhaust is too wimpy-sounding for this bike, but that can be modified. I'm sure other modifications will adjust for power and handling, but right off the showroom floor it is an impressive machine.

Purity.

The Thruxton becons back to a simpler time: Before PDAs, GPS, and cell phones. While the machine definitely has modern engineering, it feels as though it is in tune with the road and wind.



A sportbike rider may feel the Thrux is underpowered; However, it feels like the right amount of power. ... One drawback is the low range with the smaller tank.

When you do decide and stop for gas, there is always someone who wants to gawk at the Thruxton. "What year is it? How long did it take to restore?" are two of the more common comments heard.

Sweet

After 3 Harley's this is a breath of fresh air. Very nice off the show room floor. have to agree with above review, the exhaust is a little quite. But not to worry there are great sites out there with every thing you would need for upgrades. So far bike has been very easy to work on and reliable. Ton up boy

I hae just purchased a 2 year old Thruxton with aftermarket pipes and about £800 worth of extras. I did not ride the bike before I purchased or any similar model, I just knew I would like it.

I have been suprised by the agility and handling of this bike. The looks are stunning and the general ride ...is incredible. I am 58 years of age and own 3 Triumphs at present. I have ridden bikes since 15 with a small rest when I had young children. I have owned somewhere in the region of 50 bikes over that time from a James Captain to my present Rocket 3. I am a member of a very good bike club and attend nearly every run as I am semi retired.
My opinion of this bike is biased I must say by the fact that I owned a Triumph Bonneville in 1968 registered number KUM 69F if anyone has it now.

I first rode the Thruxton through Leeds suburbs into Ilkley and then over open country roads. I immediately felt a rush of nostagia as I looked down at the speedo and tacho stood proud of the bars, the sound of the aftermarket silencers and general feel of the bike.

I can thoroughly recommend this bike to all riders, you must test ride one as the handling matches the looks.

The fuel consumption is reasonable, and I intend taking it on a few long runs with the club to really test the riding position particularly.

My bike is black and it is without doubt the best colour.
