Something different... Somthing special

The look, the sound, and most of all the ride, is different than any other sportsbike out there. I've owned mine for three years and have honestly not rode my Yamaha YZF 1000 since I purchased the Daytona. The Triumph Daytona 955i is very comfortable on long commutes, and is a blast riding through... twisty mountain or country roads. It is quick enough to keep up and pass my four cylinder friends, while pretty enough to cruise through city streets. The seated position feels to fall between a sportsbike and a sport touring bike, which to me is perfect. The dealer network is sizeable and growing,although I have not needed any major work to be done. The cost of routine matainance is comparable to other sportbikes. But, the feel you get when riding one is absolutely comparable to none other. If your trying to choose a bike that's not "cookie cutter", ride a Daytona and it will choose you. Read Full Review

outside the mainstream

When you own and ride a Triumph,you are running outside the mainstream of bikes on the road.The average bikes in the Japanese market are all very much the same, from one maker to another.The Triumph is different,unique not your average bike you may see whilest travelling the hiways.

Mine is a 2004 ...Triumph Daytona 955i,it catches the eye of lots of people no matter where I go.
It's quick,nimble,and has character through it's looks,sound,style and performance.
I may be out of my league if up against some the big 4 cylinder Japanese on the hiway,but certainly surprise an awful lot of fellow's with my triumph.
I currently rode a Ducati 748,ST2 version,really nice,a pleasure to ride,would I own a Duc? sure,would I trade my Triumph for one, Nope!

Doesnt matter where you go, you are the only one.

This is my second 955 in the Triumph line. I started with a Sprint ST and realized that the suspension was not up to the task amd moved up to a Daytona. Both are great bikes. The Daytona is by far the roomiest and most comfortable full on sportbike out there. I am 6'3" and 220lbs so that matter...s a lot to me. I just dont fit on my buddies: 2004 ZX-10, 2005 GSXR 1000. It will run with any other bike on the street easily. Only at the track would you sacrifice a little. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. The exclusivity and the sound alone make this bike a must ride to me. Read Full Review

Owning Triumph Daytona 955i 2004

Hi,i have owned and rode motorbikes all my life(51 now)so here is my perspective on the triumph.Up to date i can say so far this is the best bike i've had,Fastest? I can recall doing 170mph on an Yamaha FZR1000 pre genesis,obviously road conditions permitting? Did i say in this country

(-; Not had... the trumph above 146mph ish.But here's where i preffered it,the tone from the high level aftermarket exhaust is music to my ears like it must be to a violinist playing a stradivaris.Low down grunt is perfect roll it on in top gear from relatively low speed and it will quickly howl up to warp factor 10.Looks?I have a black model with silver frame and union jack paint job on front.As good looking as my previous recent bikes,Moto Guzzi 1100i sport,Buell 1200 (lovely handling bike ),T595 again all black bikes,the best colour.Numerous other bikes from a screaming range of two strokes to,OK i admit a Harley.Used to work in bike shops so in addition to owning lots of bikes have ridden many others.Brakes have plenty of feel,back brake though is reletively crap, ok for slowing you down but thats about it.On the brake department i have recently fitted Gold fren pads,now i have seen a lot of negative publicity to these but i can only say mine work fine, actually the back brake works better now.I can only assume that people have been buying fake pads or have posted comments without experience. Servicing,you either have an ear/feel for when a bike is running right or not so the basics can be done by the average descendant of neanderthal man,i can tell by sound when the shims need adjusting or by performance when carbs need synchronising, by feel when forks or rear shocks need work etc So save yourself a fortune and only have work done when needed.I use the best fully synthetic oil availble for the bike,ok i use racing standard oil which might be over the top but i've found it the best investment you can contribute.Performance? How often are you gonna take your bike on a race track?Enough said.If you are able to push this bike to it's limit on the road without dicing with the devil then you are a better rider than me and the majority of riders.Now you ask, there must be a negative somewhere,my answer:- yes but nothing too serious 1: Seat height slightly too high for your average 5'8"-5'9" 2:Mirrors blur into oblivion above 125mph.3:Slightly heavy if you find yourself lying in a ditch with bike on top of you.4:Can be heavy on the wrists,shoulders, untill after a while your muscles adapt.I suppose this is due to its sporty nature.
