  • 2007 Sprint ST - Perfect Marriage of Sport and Touring
By  (I am an Owner) on Jan 03, 2009

I purchased my 2007 Sprint ST used with only 5800 miles on it and have put another 3000 miles on it in just 3 months.

    Performance:

The 1050 triple does not care what gear I am in, and pulls strong and predictably from any rpm. The Sprint has neutral steering, a super smooth ...

    Styling:

I get lots of compliments on the look of the bike, especially on the triple tail pipe. The instrument panel works well although the speedometer numbers could be larger. I love the gas gauge which tellls me just when I need to think about filling up - no having to remember to reset the tripmeter to calculate how many mile I have left before fill up.

    Comfort:

I love the 463 lbs dry weight - it is hard to find a touring bike of any kind under 500 lbs. I am 6' 4" with a 34" inseam, and with the stock seat, my knees hit slightly on the fairing which was a minor annoyance. So, I added a couple of inches of high density foam to the seat while flattening and widening the seat toward the back which made it much more comfortable. In addition, I added width and padding to the passenger seat to keep my wife happy on the back. She definitely likes the extra leg room these lower passenger pegs give her over my last sport bike. She also likes not having to lean forward to put her arms around me. The hand rail behind the seat is convenient for riders who may not want to be so "friendly". The stock windscreen is taller than last years, but still not tall enough for my 6' 4" frame, so switched to the taller windscreen to keep the wind from hitting me in the shoulders. The bars are tall enough that the seating is barely forward, and just right - not so forward to make it painful on a twisty downhill section, and not so straight up that you feel all the bumps in the small of your back.

I love the feel of this bike so far and am looking forward to many a long trip with this sporty 1050 triple.

  • The most amazing bike I have ever owned.
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 04, 2008

After doing comparative research, I found myself as the proud owner of a 2007 Sprint ST 1050 ABS. I live in Washington State where the weather is rainy almost year round, with ice and snow during the winters. There is not a month that goes by that I do not ride. I love this bike, and my time on ...
