Broken transmission
By Gary Stolworthy (I am an Owner) on Jun 30, 2023I bought a 2010 Thunderbird 1700 with 10k on the odometer, put some upswept megaphones on it, every time I rode it I was so impressed with the sound, the torque and fantastic handling... I've had 54 bikes in my lifetime, I took it to the drag strip and ran a mid 12 second pass, the second pass I warmed ... the tire up real good, launched it at 4,000 rpm, the drive belt broke, and when it did the transmission broke a gear... Totally my fault, I was abusive and it took its toll. The bike sat a long time before I finally got around to getting it fixed. 10 years!!!
Now I've got it running again, but have to get a new belt and new tires before I can start riding it again. It is a fast competent handling cruiser. It will easily blow away Harley hot rod cruisers, I got into a 70 mph roll on with a Yamaha 1900 cruiser, it literally ran away from it, the farther we went the farther behind the big Yamaha went!!! Loved my T bird before I broke it, and am so looking forward to riding it soon again. I will still hotrod it, but won't hole shot it hard again. Learned my lesson. FYI I had a 2006 Victory hammer before the triumph, I rode the heck out of it. Multiple holeshots, speed shifts etc. I literally Hammered the Hammer, and I have to say it lived up to its name. Never once gave me a single issue. It was quick, and stable but didn't handle like the triumph does.... Go to you tube and watch Harley Muncher video of my Hammer doing a burn out and a hole shot! Fun bike!!!

thunderbird 1700 A B S. YES PLEASE
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Sep 21, 2011Having owned four Harley Davidsons motorcycles from new .The Triumph Thunderbird is in another league altogether. Power 100bhp enourmous torque, handling , cost and Heritage. you name it, it has it all. I`ve placed a 1000mls on the clock in under a month. Every trip, the grin broadens. Two up or on ... my own the Triumph has yet to dissapoint.
I would recommend every Cruiser rider take a Thunderbird for a run ,It will not repeat not dissapoint

Awesome Bird
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 31, 2010Purchaed the limited edition 1700 in April 2010. Have put 1600 miles on it since. After test riding some Harley's and Victory's before I bought the Triumph I Know I made the right move.Power, handling, and overall value for the money can't be beat. If your in the market for a new cruiser test ride ... the ones your interested in leave the T-Bird for last you won't be disappointed.
