I have 27,000 miles on my Classic in 19 months. I'm on my 3 set of tires and nothing else is needed but gas and time to ride. It is an amassing ride..My brothers have HD's and we swap rides but I always love coming back to the Rocket. The power is always there at any speed.It handles alot better the...n most would think for such a heavy cruiser. If you keep it under 80mph (which is hard) you get pretty good mileage (over 40mpg). Find the demo truck a take a ride.

2006 Triumph Rocket 3

I have owned a Rocket know for over 2 years and have been very happy with the purchase. The bike has performed faultlessly and the dealerships here in Australia have been great. Couple of things to remember about the Rocket;



1)it's big and heavy and difficult to maneuver at slow speeds

2) has a...n appetitite for rear tyres (I got no more than 7000kms from the rear)
3)It is bloody terrific!!!!!!!!!!

Thread lock Negligence

On April 20, 2010 I left Ottawa Ont. For a trip to the United States of America after a complete evaluation of the bike by Good time Center to prepare for this trip for a total cost of $ 900.00 Canadian.

The 20,000 km check-up.



On April 30, 2010 riding by San Bernardino CA. I realized my gear s...hift was loose, not functioning properly, I tried to cruise on the 5fth gear to the closest town, despite that, the bike quit before that. At that point I was forced to retain a tow truck to take me to the closest Triumph Dealer, unfortunetly for me, that was 40 miles from the mentioned breaking point, which translates to a $ 300.00 towing expense.

On a Friday late night in North County Yamaha, San Marcos CA. Is where Mr Rick Harrison, (in service) stayed to wait for me and my towing service after hours.

I had to wait for that follwing Monday to find out it would take weeks before the repair would be completed.
I was forced to fly back to Ottawa Ont. Cost of $ 165.66 Cnd. plus the 3 nights at the hotel (waiting for that dreaded Monday) was $ 220.00 US.

See Attached work order, stating that the problem was caused by negligence on behalf of the Triumph manufacturing for not using a threaded lock bolt. Without this lock, the bolt came loose with the vibration, damaging the loose bolt as documented by the dealer on Page 3 of 5.

Triumph agreed to pay some part and a miniscule part of the labour. I was left but no choice to pay an invoice of $ 3000.00 out of pocket plus the flight expenses to retrieve my motorcycle for a total of $ 270.89 Cnd.

Bringing this misadventure to a total cost of $ 3956.55 US. Not to mention the fact that the motorcycle in question was ready on July 17, 2010. Total time of riding lost 2 ½ months....

I am seeking a refund from Triumph in the amount of $ 3,956.55 US for negligence in assembling the required bolt in above mentioned paragraph at the time of manufacturing.
