  • Great maxi-scooter
By  (I am an Owner) on Feb 05, 2018

Purchased new in 2009, almost a decade later I have experienced no service issues at all. Fit and finish are excellent. Very strong and smooth motor can propel a single 200 lb rider to over 75 mph and still be a bit under the red line. Super smooth performance and able to keep up with much larger ...

  • SYM 250 verses Piaggio X9
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 11, 2009

I Have owned my SYM 250 for 2 weeks now and I can not fault it.Servicing will be a breeze compared to my previous scooter which was an Piaggio X9 500. It also handles much better on corners. I will probably do most of the servicing myself. It is much better value than a Piaggio.

  • SYM GTS250 impressions
By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 06, 2009

after 30 odd years of motorcycle riding this is my first large scooter and i have to say i am pretty impressed.

For a 250 cc its performance is excellent, it accelerates rapidly and holds a steady 70 mph cruising with the ability to still pass other vehicles. The handling becomes a little vague ...

comfort is good though there is some vibration through the floorboards.this can be a little annoying at times but does not detract from an otherwise satisfying ride.

The mirrors could do with repositioning

and the factory should really balance the wheels before sending out the bikes!

most of the vibration through the bars has gone since the front wheel was balanced - it was quite alot out.

fuel consumption - if ridden sensibly is quite acceptable but drops off if ridden hard, only to be expected!

value is very good compared to japanese and italian bikes with no real difference in quality between them.I would definately buy another SYM.
