My new Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter

I purchased my Burgman 650 just about a month ago. I already have over 900 miles on it. Last year I had the Burgman 400 and that was terrific. I have also owned 5 Suzuki 800cc Touring cruisers. I just kept trading for fun. I am retired and no longer want a big heavy maching, however I do want comfor...t and quiet. This 650 is the BEST bike I have ever owned. I had the 600 mile service done at Cycle World of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. They told me that this maching is a true work of art. They were right. It is as smooth as a car and just as quiet. The acceleration if fantastic if you want to go fast. Even on my highway driving, I don't get much past the 4000rpm mark. There is obviously a lot of power left to go. I added the passenger back rest, just in case I decide to take someone for a ride, even though most of the time I ride solo. Thank you Suzuki for making such a wonderful touring scooter. The only thing that I would like to have is a chrome shield on the muffler instead of black. Is it possible to get one ?

Very Impressed

I just purchased the 2009 Burgman 650 last week and have already ridden close to 200 miles. Although I have nothing else to compare it to (I haven't ridden since I was a teenager) my first impression is nothing less than spectacular.



The bike is fairly simple to handle and very comfortable to ri...de. I get in and out of the Chicago traffic like never before and the savings on gas (the windy city has the most expensive gas prices in the nation) is music to my ears. Love the feeling of freedom I get when connecting with the environment while riding.

The bike has great acceleration and equally great stopping abilities. I hardly use the brakes to stop, I simply let go slowly of the accelerator and the Burgman nearly stops itself. A bit heavy to move but the scooter will readjust itself quite well once in motion.

More beef than a Burger

I first bought a burgman 400 in 2009 to try and tempt my wife into motorcycling as she hated my Suzuki 1800 and my Bandit 1250 did n't fair too well also. It was a instant hit our first run was around 200 miles to the east coast and back.She got off the Burgman without the usual muscle spasms or cra...mp.To cut a long story short I then bought a new 650 ex and now its the wife who bugs me to get the Burgman out for a spin. The down side is that I have some motorcycle bigots for friends who no longer invite me to go on runs with them "But Hey who cares" Some of my so called mates hvae ridden my Burgman and have told me that they love it really but Ive to stay stumm. Best of the Best

I wrote a review on my Suzuki 650 in September 2010,when I had about600 miles and had taken it in for the 600 mile service. Now I have over 1200 miles and I just love to ride and ride and ride. It is the best bike I have ever owned,and I have had over 40 bikes over the years. I have had from a 75cc ...Yamaha to the 1500cc Gold Wings and Valkyrie. I wouldn't trade this is for anything. A slightly taller windshield would eliminate the wind noise in the helmet. I know they make aftermarket windshields,but I don't know if they will look that good or not ? Anyone have any opinions on the aftermarket taller and wider windshields.
