Real touring scooter

Being the proud owner of burgman 400 (Blue). I can only say good things about it. Here in Portugal we call it a Maxi scooter not a touring scooter. Anyway it's an amazing scooter from stand still to road or city driving. In the past 3 weeks I've done a few trips 900km on the first, 700km on the seco...nd. With all kind's of weather and roads. In between it's been always ready to drive me to work and back, mostly on freeway.
The best points are, confort, economy, very easy to drive, decent power for take off, stability, and aerodynamic protection, last but not the least, an amazing cargo capacity. I've bought a top case, but to tell the truth never needed it. 'cause the lugage compartments are huge for a 2 wheels vehicle. Engine is also amazing for a mono 400. The riding position can go from a normal siting position to a low ride wich is great for highway.
In the city a very good take off speed and low center of gravity, contribute to a nice scooter and very economic.

2009 an400 burgman

I use the scooter to do a 40-50 mile round trip to work on a daily basis in London. This scooter is just the job. Public transport here is very expensive and parking is not a problem on two wheels. I have only one slight issue in that the bike judders a bit at around 4000 revs at times. MPG whise im... getting 12-13 miles per litre and in terms of storage, this bike is perfect. I take a laptop bag and my gym gear and on occassion I may need extra footwear. With 61 litres under the seat and a top box which you can easily fit yourself its perfect. My 2009 Burgman 400 ABS

Hello. I have a new Burgman 400 2009. 300Km left for the braking period. I love how the scooter handle well in curves and over all, good suspension, well made BUT! Poor acceleration when stop and go, poor acceleration at Cruising speed. I bought that scooter because my friend has a 2006 one and his ...Burgman start faster. And when cruising and accelerating he is loosing me! My scooter has 15cc more in comparison of 2006 to new model??? My girl friend has a Kymco 2007 250cc and easily beat me on start any time. a friend of mine have a Vespa 300 GTS and beat me very very easily on start and at cruising pass in front of me ... :( why Suzuki would make a new Burgman less powerful Very disappointed. Burgman 400

I owned a 400 then moved to the Kymco Xciting (500cc). I missed the lightness and manoeverability of the 400 and have returned to it.

My disapointment is total; this is not the Burgman I had ten years ago. The throttle needs to be turned 3cm before anything happens and at slow speeds it is disgrace...fully unmanoevearable. With both my previous Burgman and Xciting I could negotiate two narrow forty five degree turns into my backyard, with this bike I have difficulty in walking it there. You go from nothing to a far too sharp take-off. The juddering at 400revs is disgraceful. This Burgman is not fit for purpose. the dealer says that there is nothing wrong with it and I've written to Suzuki to see if I have purchased a bad one. Read Full Review

Burgman an 400

I have owned burgman for last 3 years and I'm very happy with it.
