  • Good Bike but has had some problems!
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 24, 2011

Its a great bike. I have had some problems with it. My bike had already 20 miles on the odometer and the dealer knew nothing about it. At about 400 miles the engine started knocking on a cold day at start up. This has happened twice. The bike is 3500 miles now. A recall service was done in ...

  • Great Bike!
By  (I am an Owner) on Oct 31, 2010

This is my first bike (2010, L0, as I live in Canada and they did import this model year). I totally love it over the past 7 weeks that I've owned it. I've put about 600 kms on it, never taken it past the 8000 RPM range as I'm still breaking it in according to its schedule.

    I'm about ...

My first week or so I kept it in C mode, but since it defaults back to A mode, after about 1 week I forgot about it and have been riding in A ever since. Being that it was my first bike, keeping it in C mode did help me gain some confidence while getting accustomed to the power of the bike, so if this is your first bike, I recommend you do the same. You'll know when you're ready to move on.

I admit I've cranked the throttle a few times, I mean it IS a sportbike after all, and when you get to about ~6000 RPM and higher it really starts to take off. I tell people I barely touch the throttle and I'm already at speeds people have no business going... and I still have what, 3 more gears and 10000 more in the RPM range?! Damn!

I also get compliments on the bike wherever I go. People stop and take photos of it, people chat me up when I park somewhere, and people gawk at it while I'm in traffic. They tell me with their eyes that they wish they had one.

  • Good Time to Buy
By  (I am an Owner) on Oct 11, 2010

I purchased my Gixxr over three months ago. I think I got a pretty descent price on it as most dealers are really trying to get rid of their 09s. I really didn't care what year they put on it, as long as it was new and I was the one to break it in. Ended up paying $8300 + TTL. I'm almost to 2K ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 10, 2010

Had my Gixxer 600 for a few months now. I had hoped to get a 2010 but got a great deal on an 09. I have serviced it myself twice and ran mobile one through it.

The bike is fast as hell but seems to lack some start off power. Not that I think somethings wrong, but it needs a commander. ...

The bike is smooth and straight to ride, but makes the legs chaffe from the hard seat after riding for a while in the city.

Waiting to take a canyon trip here in Salt lake. Only have 1K on the odo, so I have lots of riding to do.

  • Great Bike
By  (I am an Owner) on Jun 24, 2010

This is a great bike and very fast. Someone told me that there was a speed limiter on this bike, so I decided to test it out. I got the bike up 168 mph and it still felt like there was some juice left. So much for that theory.

  • The Best 600
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 16, 2009

I recently bought this 600 and thought that it would not measure up (in the midrange power section) to my last motorcycle which was a 2001 SV 650S and I do have to say this thing is fun to ride and being almost 40 friends were steering me in another direction saying that midrange power is not there ...

but that is not the case. A good friend of mine which is a very good rider and has been riding of more standard bikes thought I would be sorry on my purchase, despite his best instruction on a cycle purchase I continued on the 600 journey to own one and after the purchase I informed him he was way wrong on the power and all the features this bike comes with, IE: adjustable pegs, adjustable power settings, adjustable shift light, fully adjustable front and rear shocks,

and interest rate 1.99% till nov 30th, I knew I couldn't go wrong. Need less to say he called me and had alot of really good things to say after doing some research about the suzuki gsxr 600 saying that how much better this bike was compared to the competition in the 600 class.

This bike is the best looking 600 out there, I got the orange and black one and couldn't be happier.

I also think suzuki is the front runner in cycle design as compared to price and features for sure!!

On a side note you can get one cheaper than list price if you shop around even shipping from out of state is cheaper than some dealers "set-up fee" which is total crap since the manufacturer pays them to put it together from crate status.

Have about 500 miles on it now and loved every single mile. This bike is quick. It is comfortable, sounds great, looks great and is easy to ride. It has been years since I rode a sport bike and within hours I was right back into it. Still breaking it in but so far it has handled everything I have ...
