Capable all-rounder
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 03, 2018Standard UJM. Does everything adequately, but nothing well.
Overweight for power output. Lack of bottom end a real liability.
Could be geared higher. Rear suspension is a little wooden.
Reliability and fuel economy excellent. Warm climates test the cooling system when sitting ... in traffic.
Good commuter and general hack but hard to fall in love with.

Good bike for the money
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 15, 2010Good touring bike. Engine smooth and a low RPM at cruising speed in 5th gear. There are 6 gears. Plenty of passing power and straight away speed out with this 650. Good control on quick stops. A little lag time with the suspension on slowing into curves.(There are suspension adjustments.) However ... this is hardly noticeable with the correct outside inside outside technique. Shifter is a bit quicker than the clutch. I suggest an aftermarket clutch since there is a long pull with the Suzuki OME clutch.(Despite the clutch lever adjustment which is basically worthless for the OME part). Very comfortable to cover the brake while on the throttle. Very comfortable upright position. Controls are well placed. However, although helpful, don't get too dependent on the gear position indicator display. Keep your eyes on the road and feel your bike. Three disc brakes are tight and respond well. Don't skimp on the oil or fuel. 93 octane and top of the line synthetics will make for a better ride. Fairing does an excellent job at re directing wind up and over my helmet. Purchased the bike in the summer of 2009 and had no problems with it. Hard to find GSX650F specific after market accessories. Had to directly go through a German Company to get a set of quality bike GSX650F frame sliders.
Overall an excellent and affordable choice for a sport tourer. Highly recommend it.

Great all round bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 10, 2010Ride this bike all day with out getting tired like most sport bikes. This one should be classified as a Sport Touring, because that exactly what I did last year with it. Mechanically it's solid and just plain fun. The F in GSX650F stands for FUN. Seriously, best bike I've ever owned and I've had ... 10 bikes.

2008 GSX650F =All Out Fun Ride
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 27, 2009Fantastic ergonomics, especially for the vertically challenged. I am 5'7" 190lbs and the upright ridding position serves me very well. And I believe others will like the same ridding position. So much funner to ride than the boring cruiser bikes. The Gsx650f is Light agile and quick. Great overall ... balance and maneuverability through corners, handles very nice. Brakes are more than sufficient for precise controlled stopping power. I have the Black and Silver color version. What an absolutely beautiful looking bike. I am very happy...

quick enough
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 25, 2008The GSX650F is a very quick, nimble, versatile bike with good looks and great mileage.
I have added a power commander and a sprocket, one tooth bigger than stock.
Makes a big difference.
Bike runs 140 mph
