The Last bike you will ever need!!
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 16, 2009I have been riding for 35 years. I have been to alot of track days and many many miles on the road. I have had 8 bikes and from all 4 major player. This bike is the best in all areas. The engine and handling are great. This bike can be ridden at 60%, 70% to 100% and be a blast at all %. This bike ... like to have an experanced rider. If you take your time and set this bike up for your riding style, you will be a better rider just because of the bike.

The Amazing Gsxr 1000
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 24, 2008I am 23 years old and have been amazed by motorcycles since a young age. Always growing up Suzuki was the bike for me. My very first Sport bike was the 05 Suzuki Gsxr 750, looking at all of the models this year I went with the 750 because it wasn't too small yet it wasn't too big. Now I have ridin ... awhile and grown up a little. Going with the 06 Suzuki Gsxr 1000. She is my pride and joy. As you take a look over this beautiful yet powerful bike it is amazing. When I first saw the bike the tail section turned me away from it, also the thick mirrors with the turn signals in them. As time has past these differences and beauties have grown on me by far. Also the price was made me turn away from this elegant bike. But like always I went with the Gixxer. Looking at the bike I was impressed with the sleek design. This sweet ride is setting on 17" rims with a Red and black paint sckeem. Now it was time to crawl on the bike and take this girl for a nice ride. Putting the key in and seeing the orangish/redish guages light up as the tachometer needle goes up to the top and whines back down to the bottom was magnificant. The new feature of the gear indicator was awesome. This impressed me very much, something I wish all my older bikes had stock. O and of course the digital speedometer, you can't forget that. The sound of that Horizontal In-Line 4 cyclinder sounds amazing even with a stock exhaust on this girl. Pulling out turning the throttle a little on the hard side the back tire breaks lose and kicks side was, wow what a rush with all this power between my legs. Letting off a little and getting back on it so I can accelerate up the road and take this machine through some s-turns. This feeling was nothing like I have ever ridin before. There was more power there than I ever needed. Which is great in a riders eyes. As I accelerate into the turns, I lean to my right for the first turn, being impressed by how this heavier machine handles amazingly. Shifting my weight back to the left seeing how the bike transfers the weight easyly and smoothly. Coming out of the turns I jump on the throttle as the front end slowly raises of the ground as though it was designed with elegances.Acclerating amazingly up the straight stretch to about 120 mph this bike was just knocking my socks off. I decided to then turn onto the highway and see how well this bike cruised. Accelerating up the ramp I was excited to see. I found out that this bike was very comfortable and cruised very well. It was a nice smooth ride yet knowing that if I wanted to go all of the power and motor was there. After taking this beautiful bike for a ride and pulling back in the driveway I had one thing set in my mind. As I crawled off the bike from my awesome ride that one thing in my mind was, wow!!!! Am I ever glad to be an owner of such a amazing, beautiful, yet such a powerful bike.

Own a Legend
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 18, 2008This bike will do anything you have the courage to try. Usually it's you letting up long before you reach the limitations of the bike itself. Never a need for worrying about the proper gear for passing, just grab the throttle and you are there. Smooth running in top gear from 40mph on up to redline. ... Almost like owning an automatic as long as you are rolling. Comfort is all that can be expected from a 160hp track machine. Long highway trips will get annoying to the backside, but a gel seat seems to help. A double bubble screen almost lifts the wind above your helmet. No con's for this one, nothing but praises. You won't be dissapointed.

"First flawless sportbike"
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 26, 2008That is what I have read in several magazines reviewing this bike, even as late as 2008 issues. It truly blows my mind as far as power, power delivery, handling, stability, braking. None better!

Great bike with little modification
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 22, 2008When the 2005/6 GSXR first came out I was really considering the Honda RR first, as I do not get out to the track as much as I used to and I was looking for something a little more "Comfortable" However; after having ridden the GSXR I was extremely surprised at how well this bike handles all types ... of riding comfortably. The handeling characteristics is spot on and confidence inspiring weather on the track or commuting to work. And for me I have yet to find a track bike that does everything this well. Bike of the year for a reason, really a fantastic bike.
There are a few things that could be better though. My first modification was to the front brake. Stock the front brake is not good enough for the track or spirited canyon road riding. Some nice pads and SS brake lines is enough for me, but I would suggest a more powerfull master cylinder for track usage. Also the rear shock might be a little lack luster if you really know what you are doing. Adjustabillity is there but not a huge range. I would also upgrade the rear tire to a 190/55 instead of a 190/50 which I believe is stock.

GSXR1000K^
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 17, 2008This is the best sport bike to date that I have ever owned. The quick and precise turning ability, braking is amazing. The power band in all gears is unmatched by any bike in its years class. Two years later and topping 25,000 miles I have had no problems what so ever. I will be riding this bike ... for a very long time or until I feel Suzuki can surpass the performance of this bike.
