Good mixture
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 25, 2012I currently own this bike, it's my second supersport and my fourth motorcycle. This bike has a fairly predictable power curve and a pretty bullet-proof gearbox. CBR's and BMW's tend to be set up more for roads rather than tracks and Ninja's and Yamaha's are the opposite. Suzuki seems to be more in ... the middle of the two, one foot in the world of lunacy and sheer adrenaline and the other in the more peaceful commuting side of motoring. It's suspension, once set up well is great, the standard set up is a bit stiff, so you'll feel a bumpy road. If you're looking for a track bike, buy a ninja or a yamaha, if you're unlikely to ever visit a track buy a CBR or a BMW if you have the money. But if you want to be able to do both well, this bike will do the job and you'll have a lot of fun doing it.

I love my gixxer
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 31, 2009I have own 2 05 600 and nethier dissapointed me. My first I was hit by a honda civic and the bike wasn't damaged at all, besides the fairings, I rode it up untill the day the insurance company bought it from me. My second one has been through two wreck one of which was over 140 mph and it only took ... cosmetic damage. Very durable bike and it looks great I have been in love with suzuki since I started riding when I was 7. One down side the huge factory exhaust thats the first aftermarket part that is a must buy.

Amazing Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 28, 2008I absolutely love my gixxer. This bike is amazing it has a decently smooth ride and tons of power. Once you get to 9000rpm this thing takes off like a damn rocket! And keeps pulling all the way through 6th gear! The only thing i don't like about em is the big ass pipe sticking out the back. a must ... for all owners is to buy a shorty it looks better and sounds better. other than that i have no complaints about this bike.

Strong Willed Fighter
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 28, 2008I've driven a small number of sportbikes and with limited riding experience (3 1/2 Years). So, please take that into consideration when reading this review.
I have been a fan of Suzuki's styling for this year's GSX-R supersport. The only downside of it was the gigantic stock exhaust ... that has useless amounts of weight, in comparison to the more compact exhaust of the 06/07 GSXR 600/750. The seat and riding position is pretty optimal and comfortable as the area of movement has a pretty large range. If you dial-in the suspension and stock Showa forks for your weight and height properly, its very obedient and confident when taking corners. The Tokico brakes hold pretty strong under high stress. Overall power in the engine kicks in around 5,500RPMs and the torque curve begins to decline after about 10,500RPMs. Top Speed is estimated at around 175MPH. Overall satisfaction of this bike is pretty high. I have 23,000+ miles logged on this bike and it has been through hell and back (one accident and a couple of "stress" moments thrown here and there). I have had no major malfunctions/defects and have maintained a regular maintenance schedule at the recommended intervals, and it still runs strong as it did from the showroom. Other 600K4/K5 riders run into the famous "C28 STVA" problem where the secondary throttle valve actuators fail to work the butterflies in the throttle body, but I have yet to get it (knock on wood). Through the times, I've had to replace a clutch cable and a speed sensor (my fault actually), but other than that it ran great. Overall, this bike still delivers even against its newer, hi-tech bretheren in the supersport class.

A seriously impresive bike
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 16, 2008This bike is an amazing bike, I am definetly happy I went with the gsxr and probably will never buy a different bike. It has plenty of power and I have never had any problems, not even a warning light.
