2005 Suzuki DR650se
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 06, 2020The bike is not great at anything, but good at everything. It'll get you from point A to point B with solid performance. On trail rides, especially single track, she's a pig. With a soft suspension and curb weight right around 365lbs, you will get a workout. However, riding back to the truck ... on fire roads and/or pavement, everybody wants to ride her back. She's smooth & quiet and geared to hum effortlessly at highway speeds(70+) in stock form.
She's a true 50/50 dual sport. Parts are readily available at reasonable prices, especially south of the border, more of a South American bike compared to its main competitors, the Kawasaki KLR, & the Honda XRL.
Pound per dollar, you easily get your money's worth!
I have four bikes: the DR650, an '89 Honda XR600R, a 2006 Ural Patrol, and a 2015 Honda metropolitan (50cc) for the Mrs. if I had to travel long and fast, I'd take the DR
