Crusin' the Northern Plains

Just got back into cycling after a twenty five year hiatus, and wasn't sure which small cruiser would be best for me...Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki or Suzuki...Skip the Harleys...too many Wannabies driving those up here...I don't want to fit into that group!



I checked out the big four Japanese bikes a...nd had a tough time deciding which bike was for me...they all make great bikes, dependable, fun and of course, affordable. I settled on the Suzuki after a lot of looking, and re-looking, and heeing and hawing...and am glad I did. My bike came out of the shop about as basic as they get, the only accessory I had installed was a OEM windshield, and I drove it home 100 miles with a big *hit eating grin the whole way!

I spent the entire winter customizing my C50 since I don't like to ride my bike when it's -20F degrees outside then( One drawback for living in the frozen North Dakota tundra). I found many of the accessories online, some even on EBAY for a fraction of the cost at a dealer. All in all, I've made my bike into a 800cc highway cruiser for less than $7000.
I average about 3000 miles a year on it, driving it to work when the weather is decent. I have also gone to Sturgis on it twice, the 400 mile trip seems too short! I've ridden alongside Goldwings, Harleys, Kaws, V Stars and about everyother bike made and have had nothing but compliments on my C50..
I may have been happy on other Japanese makes also, but one thing I know for sure is that my C50 has been nothing but perfect for me...never any problems, it just roars down the road with me sitting on it, me, with a big *hit eating grin! Read Full Review

Greatest Fun Ride:

Im suprised that the C50 is not a little higher ranked, I just bought mine with little under 7000 miles. Its fantastic, easy to ride, fun to ride, and a looker. Ive got all the saddle bags, Windshield, Passenger Floor boards, Sissy bar with Extra large rear Travel bags, And even with all the extra w...eight It Rides great. No complaints. Ive never been a harley person, and believe that Suzuki has hit it out of the park with the Boulevard C- series bikes. Nice cruisers. It does seam to be alittle more comfertable while riding a passenger tho. BUt either way great bike, If you have the opertunity, get one.. Well worth the money. Read Full Review

Perfect Mid Sized!

First of all I've ridden everything from a Yamaha RD80cc to a Honda VTX 1300 over nearly forty years. For the record I'm 5'6" and 145 lbs.



I just bought my C50 with only 184 miles on the clock! It had been garaged since 2007. So four-years old or not, I haven't had my first service yet!



E...ngine: It pulls very strong and while it won't pull your arms out of their sockets, if you grab some throttle you better hold on. Lots of torque for this sized engine, very smooth with just enough vibration you know you're on a V-Twin.

Transmission: The gear ratios seem perfect to me. First is fairly short and fifth is long making highway speeds smooth and effortless. Shifting with the heel/toe shifter is great with just enough "thunk" to know you've shifted. Shaft drive should be nearly maintenance free, smooth and long-lasting.

Handling: Except at very creeping speeds you don't notice the bike's 500+ pound weight at all. Small enough to flick around curves effortlessly and on the straight shots - just point it and go. Couldn't be happier.

Comfort: Well it's a stock seat so for me 100 miles will finish my butt off but I have a gel pad to put on. Grips and bars fit my reach just fine and the floorboards are just far enough forward so I can stretch my legs out on the highway - won't even need highway pegs.

Misc: The front disc and rear drum stop it nicely and I don't miss a rear disc. Water cooled, fuel-injection and shaft drive should make it long-lasting. The speedo pod is digital with fuel gauge, time, two odometers and engine temp. Yeah the wheels are laced with spokes which are always a pain to clean. Plenty of thick chrome on the bike, a spin on oil filter and stock pipes that have just enough "loud" to them as the RPM's creep up.

Honestly - if you're looking at bikes in this size range and see one of these for sale - you really HAVE to go sit it. For me it's perfect. Read Full Review

Great Cruiser

Ive owned this 2007, since 2010,this is the greatest bike, defently a sleeper. All Ive had to do, is regular maintanace, Great investment, great bike. alot of fun to ride, It has all the power needed to ride with the so called big dawgs. Mine is fully dressed and its still as nimble and easy to cont...rol as the day I bought it. If I was to suggest any bike, this would be it.
