Fly 150
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 23, 2009Overall we are extremely happy with this scooter. It runs great and pulls great to 50, then it is slower to 60-65 top speed. Ride and handling are very good. Brakes are very good. The only minor complaint I have is I think the seat is a little to hard.

Would I buy it again?...maybe.
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 15, 2009Bought the bike in Dec '07. Rode the first 700 miles in the rain. It came with tires not rated for 55 mph so it shook like crazy, but that was resolved when the tires were replaced. I've driven it harder than it was designed for, carrying 300 pounds full out from Bellingham, Wa to Bandon, Or, twice. ... It has run well, though I am now starting to hear some noises that I didn't used to hear. When I'm not traveling long distance, the bike typically carries 200 pounds with relative ease, though uphill or with a head wind, it has almost no power at all, but then, it is only a 150. I get about 60 mpg, 90 on a tank, though I can stretch it out to about 120 between fillups. Thus far, I have put over 6000 miles on it, even taking into account the not-too-accurate speedometer (consistently reads 5 miles faster than I'm going: if it shows 50, I'm going 45) and it still runs fairly well. It is uncomfortable on the long haul (over 50 miles), doesn't have reasonable accessories available (1 type of trunk and 1 type of windshield), but other than that, I have no real complaints. But would I buy it again? Not for what I use it for - long distance traveling. I would buy a more powerful bike. But since I don't have the cash to do that, it works as well as, or better, than can be expected. Suggestion, if you weigh more than 125 pounds and will be going up and down steep hills, get a stronger bike.

FLY150 Quality Problems
By (I am an Owner) on May 16, 2009My Fly 150 broke down less than 1 week from purchase. After several battery replacements (and being straned several times) the dealer replaced the stator which solved this problem. Then the transmission belt was defective along with a leak from the front forks. Not happy with Piaggio quality control.

Happy owner
By (I am an Owner) on May 12, 2009After driving over 2000 miles on my Fly 150, I'm pretty happy with it. I have on occasion had some rough starts with it. Eventually I opened the battery compartment under the seat and jiggled the cables and haven't had much of that problem since. The dealer told me sometimes the battery may need ... to be recharged, especially after winter when one doesn't use it much.
Handling is exceptional, in my opinion. At first, I found the shocks to be rather bouncy, and sometimes I would bottom out when going fast. Again, the dealer helped me resolve this problem by showing me how to stiffen the rear shocks. Piaggio even supplies the tools to do this. They were contained in a bag tied underneath the seat.
Now my scooter rides wonderfully and I don't bottom out any more. I've seen many complaints about this on the web, so I thought I'd pass this info along for others. All in all, I think it was a good buy.

Great Scooter for the City
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 22, 2009I own 4 scooters... 2 Piaggio typhoons, 1 vespa, and a recent purchase of the piaggio fly 150. This scooter rides really well even with two people on it. Descent pickup and rides very solid. I def. recommend this scooter for the city.
