2007 KYMCO Agility 125

When gas went over $4/gallon last year, I decided to park my truck and get a scooter to run local errands. I've ridden motorcycles for 35 years but had never owned a scooter. For me, a scooter's advantage over a motorcycle is its combination of maneuverability, CVT transmission and lockable under-seat ... storage.

I researched scooters and decided that although I liked the size and maneuverability of the small framed 50's, their anemic engines would not be able to keep up with the aggressive, fast moving traffic where I live.

What I find appealing about my Agility is that while it is the size of a 50cc scooter, it has the power I need thanks to its 125cc motor. The Agility 125 accelerates very well and has no problem keeping up with traffic. Top speed is an indicated 68 mph, which is an actual 59 mph. More than fast enough for the 'burbs as long as I stay off the highway.

What also appeals to me about the Kymco Agility 125 is that it is a well made, well designed scooter from a reputable company that stands behind its products with a two year warranty and brick and mortar dealerships, but it is priced at or below the price of many 50cc scooters!

I get between 80 and 90 mpg, depending on how aggressive I am with the throttle. It handles extremely well, is very light and really fun to ride. Under-seat storage is generous for a small-frame scooter and I usually park it on the sidewalk right next to the store when I run errands.

For $1999 MSRP, the Agility 125 can't be beat for value. For the price of a decent 50cc scooter, you get a 125cc scooter from a major scooter manufacturer, with brick and mortar dealership support and a two year warranty.

In the year I have owned my Agility, I have had no problems with it and it has been as reliable as my Suzuki and Honda motorcycles.
