Crazy fast bike
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 15, 2012Just bought a used 2007 300XC in great shape with FMF torque pipe. This is my 11th bike in 30 years of riding and my third 2T. I'm a senior C rider weighing 225lbs. First off, like all modern KTMs, it has a great hydraulic clutch, superb brakes. It is loaded with quality parts like all SS braided ... lines, brembo brakes with wave rotors, Excel rims, and fat bars all standard. Why do people say the KTM 300xc/xcw 2t has some of the good qualities of a 4T? On tight single track it can be ridden a gear high and chugged. Less traction on rooty steep hills than my last 4T, unless you carry some extra speed. Well, not all of us riders are "ready to race" like the bike! When stalled or dropped it is one easy kick ... Every single time. While my old XR400 had better low speed traction, even with a pumper carb it took 1-3 heavy kicks much of the time. By then your buddies are gone and you are sweaty/foggy (old bike). First day on the 300xc I tried to ride a second gear wheelie, I looped out!!! On the street it power wheelies EVERY gear ... Easily! I need to respect the throttle and realize that when the power really hits, the power curve is very steep! I am putting an 11 oz Steahly FWW on to soften the hit, increase traction. The nice thing is how easy the install is and Stealhy can remove weight as needed. Then as I grow into this monster I have options. The bike is overkill for NE tight woods non-racers, but in open spaces I just LOVE the power.

Hold on to your handle bars guy's....
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 24, 2009This bike is scarry fast. and with the new gearing ratio in 1ST and 2ND gear it will get you going as fast as you could want to go on the dirt. I got this bike last April after my uncle died, He swore buy this KTM 300XC as a huge motocross fan he said that it was by far the best bike on the market ... for the money!!!! When I road it for the first time this summer understood what he meant, it took me a few rides to get used to the power and throtle responce that this bike possesed. Thanks for your time I know its 2009 but I had to wright a review of this bike when I saw that no one else had...
