90,000 miles
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Jul 05, 2017This bike has been great. 90,000 miles without a single problem. I have done numerous trackday events with it, countless 500 mile Sunday rides and taken it out of state to ride AR, CO, TN, VA etc

my second ZZR
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 07, 2010I purchased an 06 ZZR600 new, rode it for a year and loved it. I sold it when I bought a new car.
This year I picked up a new 08 right out of the crate. (got a super deal)
Great value, nice looking, cheap to insure, and FAST.
Kawi gave this bike all ... the right parts, big exhaust, big brakes, big rubber, big chain, big tank, big head lights, comfy seat.
There's almost nothing that needs upgrading. (on my 06 I did however add a -1 sprocket to the front just to give it a little extra umph off the line, and a yoshi can for a little more noise for highway riding.)
I use the 2008 ZZR to commute and it's wonderful for that. Easily getting 45+mpg and 200 miles on a tank is a nice thing.
Even though it's 12 year old technology, the ZZR is still a serious performer and will really get up and go if you start to wind it out. The huge rpm band makes riding a lot of fun.
My only complaints are the stock tires. They are "ok" at best. I seem to have the rear lock up pretty often under hard braking and/or engine braking after downshifts.
I picked up a piece of metal in my 06 and ended up putting a new rear tire on, it made a big difference. I'll probably look into new rubber next season.
If you're looking for a real slick bike that won't break the bank but will still thrill you, this is the one.

Great 600
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 05, 2010When I wanted a 600cc bike I did my homework. I wanted a beginner bike but I didn't want to be sitting upright. The price was right, the vaule is unmatched and what really sold me was the insurance payment. If you want a good all around performer look no further. I feel safe and after riding it only ... a few times I felt confident. This bike is much like the Honda CBR600 RR because it will make you a better rider. No warranty issues to report. It is not the fastest but it is no slug either. I have taken it just over 150 before my helmet started pressing in against my face so I had to back out of it. I purchased my bike brand new in 2009. I get many compliments about how clean I keep it, the plasma blue color and not "over customizing" it. Now that I have more experience I decided not to trade it in. I can deal with no monthly payments.

Great All Around Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 26, 2009I sold my 2008 250R and ended up picking this bike up at the dealership. I usually get buyers remorse with pretty much everything, but not this baby. It's a good all around performer. It has enough power to keep up with my buddy's CBR1000RR, light enough to throw into twisties like the 250R, and ... comfortable enough for both myself and my wife. Makes others jealous when they see how well padded the seat and pillion is. This bike may be an older design, but don't let its age fool you into thinking the newer ZX6Rs are "all that."
