My brother in law bought an 04 1500 Classic, which I rode, and wow did I fall in love with a motorcycle. This bike is probably the best bang for your buck in the motorcycle world. VN1500 = Great Cruiser

If you are looking for a great cruiser the 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic is a first-rate choice. It is a classic bike with the power and comfort you should expect from a cruiser. I have had the VN1500 just over a year now and it has meets or exceeds my every expectation. I wanted a cruiser that... was under $10K (new), had a good reputation for reliability, at least an 1100cc engine, shaft drive and room for my 6ft / 200lbs frame. Several cruisers (HD “Super Glide Custom”, Honda “VTX”, Suzuki “Boulevard”) came close but the Vulcan 1500 Classic had the price and the features. Read Full Review

2008 Kawasaki VN1500 is a Great Cruiser

The 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 is one great bike. I bought the 2008 VN1500 a year ago (March 2009) and it has met my every expectation and then some.

The 1500 cc engine has plenty of power for “two up” riding and allows for smooth cruising with ample muscle to move when you need it to. The “heel /... toe” shifter and driver floorboards are nice little features. The shaft final drive is quiet and clean. The stock seats are not unbearable. The passenger seat is abundant but both could be improved. The adjustable air shocks are a definite plus and add to the overall comfort of the ride. The “Classic” line of the bike is well appointed with the spoked wheels and chrome pipes and accents.
I compared the VN1500 to four other motorcycles including HD, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki. All were fine machines and all had their pros and cons but the Kawasaki VN1500 hit more of the pros on my list. {Size (to accommodate my 6ft 200lbs frame), Engine displacement (79ci/1300cc – 122ci/2000cc), price (under $10000 new), fuel injection, low center of gravity and wide spoke wheels.
The only none OEM features I have added are a “Memphis Shades” windshield, saddlebags mounted with “Easy Brackets” (Both are removed in seconds when not needed or wanted and allows for a return to the factory fresh look.) and a Kawasaki “Fire and Steel” luggage rack.

New 2008 first ever

Right out of the box . unlike a car it did not come with the new smell but it only had like 1 km on the bike. Cool! The first season had to break it in. 5000 km later. learned alot about driving a 800 lb bike. riding like a enduro bike is not happening. Next season 3000km trek through Northern ontar...io hwys beautiful no chain to check tires ok. suspension perfected.No wind blowing me around. missed cutting corners at high degree trade offs all the time good thou. comfort was good.I could go as fast as i wanted which is a little over the speed limit.Pass trucks easily. gas allmost ran out once station did not have premium gas.13000 km later another 2010 season started one back tire needed and fluids replace.we should be good to go and tighten a few nuts.crazy good. A Great Bike at a Good Price

I have owned my Vulcan 1500 Classic for 3 years this month. This was my first bike and I am very happy with it. It has plenty of power and is a comfortable ride. I have some physical back issues, and this bike is more comfortable than most cars I ride in. Read Full Review
