head gasket??

I have a 2007 1600 nomad with 7500 miles. I started to smell a sweet smell comming from the left side engine rear engine cyclinder at about 5000 miles. stopped by the dealership. ( now closed down) had a mechanic look at it. he stated he saw nothing. went to another dealer last week they stated blow...n head gasket. priced me about 1000.00 to fix. suggested I but bars leak in to stop the very small leak (pinhole) and sell. anyone else ever hear of a gasket leak in the 1600's. advise please!!love the bike. cant afford a new bike Read Full Review

Like a champ

I bought my 2007 Nomad in the April of 2008 new at a great price. This was my first bike, with that said here's the reason's I chose it. The Nomad is easy on the throttle so it doesn't rip out of your hands. It's a heavy and sturdy bike and can be seen coming from a distance. The seat was low enough... that I could flat foot on the ground (I'm 5'8" and the Road Kings set a bit high for me). Didn't buy a different Jap bike because of all of the plastic. The Nomad, for the most part is aluminum and steel. The Nomad also has little to no maintenance unlike some of my buddies with other bikes always wrenching. I just keep good tires and change the fluids and it run's like a top. I am happy with my purchase and will keep it for many years to come as the resale is not the best and something new along the lines of this type of bike now runs a pretty penny. Out the door price was $10,000. Get's 36 mpg. Read Full Review

Great impulse buy

I've been riding for one (1) year now and have gone trough 6 different bikes trying to find the right one, then bought this used Vulcan 1600 recently when I wasn't even looking for it. For the money and value it just doesn't get any better than this; great looking and functional saddle bags, comfy s...eats, windshield, a fuel injected 1552cc V-twin engine with an awesome exhaust note, great looks and feel. I may not know much about bikes yet, but this bike is one great platform for me to start venturing out into the unknown. I'm very happy with it! Read Full Review

07 Vulcan Nomad

Hi first time writing. I purchased the bike new in 08, 20000 km. already made changes. I put on Vance and Hins Exhaust and a Power Commander iii usb. And the handle grips. I had trouble with back firing when slowing down, so I just got it dyno tuned in Winter of 2011-2012 I have not drivin it yet bu...t it sounds much better, even just idling. Read Full Review
