small but bit scout
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 27, 2015Ok , my first review but my fifth bike Ive own in 50 years. Just a little background, my first was a 125 1964 susuki given to me so I could ride instead of peddle to a job in fast food in the 70s. A friend of the family gave it to me and I was in love with biking. I knew it wasn't cool or anything ... to race or brag, but the freedom and the feeling of riding dominated my brain. Second because of the first, I bought a second bike while living at home and kept it at a friends when I was 17 because my parents had become anti motorcycles. So I store my 440 ltd kz at a buddies house and walked there to ride. Looking back I had serious biker problems. Next I had a rented room and it was cheap, also had a girlfriend who paid half, so then I found I could afford a 750 Suzuki katana, awesome scooter and junior race bike after my previous loves. Next came my over 30 making good money with a tax return to spoil myself with a 2003 Hayabusa. Holy Cow............. Seriously I thought nothing and I mean nothing would ever take place of the nuclear bomb in peace time Bike. I got married and did what a new husband does to take care of a family instead of making his joy the main priority. I sold it and paid a 1000$ to the dealer to sell it and call it even. I never wanted to own a bike again after the heartbreak. Next and its hard to believer there is a next, my wife, who never forgot my sorrow of giving up riding began pushing me to look into biking again., OMG I cant believe it...but I never will because I'm too cheap....... Guess what, I wanted to see an indian bike up close and had to drive 70 miles to see one and when she saw my face she pushed and pushed for me to buy a scout... a reasonably price piece of history......I read for a couple of years on it and checked the ergos and everything that mattered to me.......... An hour in the sales floor I just lost it and said sign me up.............. been several weeks...... I am just busting with joy to own a beautiful American piece of history. I love Harley but it just doesn't do it for me. Maybe the image or the riders or whatever. But I do know I'm am completely in love with my American made indian. I rode a hayabuse a 200 mph superbike and this indian makes me happier than birthdays and Christmas when I was 5. Its low to the ground and so easy to do whatever I want..The motor is capable of giving me enough juice to satisfy my needs,,,,,,,,,, after a hayabusa,,,,,, seriously people.. I'm happy, I got cruiser, with good power and kick ass looks. Thank you indian. Thank you for bringing me back to American bikes.
