Great choice for newbie!
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 13, 2012get my 2nd hand's gt250r (at malaysia it's called Naza Blade 250R)recently after long time waiting for save the fund :) it's a great beginner bike i can say and with great value to money!at malaysia the price different between it & the kawa ninja is around MYR5000 which is quite a lot for me and ... most of the ppl in this country, yet the performance still can match with the kawa's little ninja and with better specification in terms of the equipment
What i Like on This bike:
1. Good spec (USD folk, V-twin, Twin Disc, Digital Speedo)
2. Fierce outlook, large fairing & fuel tank (arguably the coolest looking in it's range)
3. Cheap Price!
4. fuel consumption
What i didn't like on This bike:
1. too aggressive riding position which will make rider in pain during traffic jam (Malaysia ppl especially KL & PJ area will understand me)
2. 5 speed gearbox (thought they perform well and match with engine performance)
3. Oil cooler (im more favor for Water Cooling)
4. the weight! if it can manage to reduce it's weight atleast another 10kg i bet it will perform even more better!

love this bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 28, 2012this bike when i bought it was sitting in a garage for a few months and wasnt taken care of due to it being roled over. i have replaced a handle bar, both front foot pegs, changed oil and tail light bulb. i would have to say it was easy to replace parts and no leaking oil or gas anywhere. im in ... the middle of motorcycle class and i cant wait to get my endorsement. i have rode it a few times with no experiance at all and once i got the feel of the bike from advice from my dad it was a brease at low speeds. i would recomend this bike to anyone wanting a easy 250 thats not small like the 250 ninja. it is the size of a normal sport bike 500 and up. it has plenty of power and will feel like more then other 250s like im rideing in the class. have fun n be safe everyone.
ps i only paid 1000 for the bike and with parts from richardhyosung.com i only have 1400 in it so far.

Great bike!!!!
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 29, 2010Ive had my hyogt250r for a year now and it has just hit 6000mi. I love this bike!!!!! $3900 brand new and no issues at all to date (knock on wood). For a 250 around the city it has more than enough to get you moving. I belong to a group that usually rides about 150-200miles each outing and this hyo ... manages to keep up around turns and curves. Of course on the straights I have issues keeping up with the larger CC bikes. But I have managed to get her screaming at 110. Every where I go people ask "what kind of bike is that?", "Sharp looking bike!!!" I would recommend this bike to anyone and its without doubt a great bike to ride and handles great!!!! Not to mention I smoked a Kawa 250 but shhhhh dont tell anyone. Everyone likes a sleeper and this bike has most certainly impressed the bejesus out of me and others I ride with. Keep it up HYO cant wait to see whats to come!!!!!

ok bike
By (I am a Writer) on Sep 20, 2010The hyosung GT 250r is a great starter bike I loved it all tho, its top speed is 100 good for a 250. The bike was only ment for a short ride I drive about 50-75 miles a day so this is what problem I came across with the bike. The pistons are a poor design the bottom of the piston is steel but the ... top is aluminum the cylinder case is stell so after a hour of riding the head will cool down before the case will so you will have piston worping. I had this problem with mine I had white smoke all the time. But all and all its a good bike wearth 3k, just dont ride for long periods at a time.

great bike
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 22, 2009i have owned every brand of motorcycle on the market. And i was not thinking i would not care for this bike due to luke warm reviews in mags i have read. What a wonderful surprise i got when i did ride one. the build quality is as good as the jap bikes i own and i have put 19,000 miles on it so for, ... with not one problem of any kind. I find that i will ride this more than any other bike i own ( moto guzzi, bmw r 90, honda 1100,) because it is so lite and easy to handle.I think the Koreans are going to be a major force in the future, they are building great motorcycles at super inexpensive prices and they have a full 2 year warrenty, watch out japan.

Love the bike but a little bumpy
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 15, 2009Bike never fails to start, and it pulls me on the highway to 100MPH if i want it to. It holds up to a 20 yr old beating the crap out of it and for 3 GRAND i can't complain. I own a 2007 GT250R
I prefer this bike over the ninja 250 since the ninja sounds like an angry lawn mower at ... speed. Also the ninja is way to small for some one my height. I only had a few issues. 1st off the suspension gets soft quickly I'm only at 3K and it is alot softer. The clutch cable also snapped at 2,800. I also love the aftermarket for the bike. Everything can be found on eBay or just a quick Google search of Hyosung Accessories.
It does what it's designed to do. It starts, runs, stops, goes forward, carries a passenger, and gets 70MPG! I will be upgrading next season to the 650 model.

Good in the short term, bad quality
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Aug 14, 2009This bike handles fine and looks great. Very attractive styling. But it is a bulky mammoth weighing in at over 450 pounds wet weight (almost 100 pounds more than the class leading Kawasaki ninja 250r). This bike has a low compression ratio compared to other similar bikes.
The most ... disappointing is the build quality. The quality and reliability is non-existent, after only a year the gas tank starts to rust and peel. The transmission becomes clunky and 1st gear fails entirely.
It may look nice, but that is all this bike has going for itself.

2009 yosung gt250r
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 07, 2009I purchased a gt250r a few weeks ago. I'm loving it more and more everyday.
I was really skeptical about buying one after some reviews but after riding it i'm starting to think those bad reviews were just written by people who have never been on one before. After breaking it in ... and getting its 1000km service it has really started to run smoothly. The looks are awesome and its runnning great so far.

Bought it and happy bout it!
By (I am an Owner) on May 17, 2009I am a new rider, since October 2008. So I don't have alot of time riding. Few companies sell starter bikes. So I looked at this bike and liked what I saw. I've had no problems, and don't mind that it's only a 250cc, it's got just enough go for me. I think it's a great starter bike and would recommend.
