2010 Husqvarna WR 300

all round the husky is a brilliant bike. Its new kabaya front end works well through its entire stroke and i have had no troubles with its action. it is paired well with the rear shacks shock but rear action does seem to be a stiffer action than the front. ive found that the harder the suspension an...d entire package for that matter is pushed the better it performs. its class leading engine is torquey and it will allow slower riders leway with clutch input. and when kept on pipe it is an absolute trench digger, it will keep any big bore four banger in check. it is super responsive and is all that two stroke riders look for. the ergonomics are great bar the kickstarter. it is forward of ideal and the kick stroke is signifantly shortened by the lever hitting the peg at 2/3 of a full kick. contary to other beliefs the cable operated clutch is no downfall. its action is smooth as it is light and allows more feel than a hydraulic clutch. a quick on the fly adjuster allows easy, responsive and positive adjustments. first gear on the husky is tall and through tight and snotty goat tracks clutch input will be needed. the standard gearing was too low for my needs with a 48 tooth rear and 13 tooth front. a cruising speed of only 85kph is a little low for fire trails and when you are riding a true 300cc two stroke getting there is a blur. i replaced the 13 front with a 14 and now a managable 100kph allows me to cruise better along with being able use the torque and power band to my advantage, rather than digging a trench and looking at the sky. dont be discouraged thinking that you will have a huge power loss, i can still pull monos in any gear and still pull away from any bike in a drag. it does however make the problem with first worse. nothing is ever perfect though. the brakes are brilliant and i couldnt ask for anything better. the shrouds do tend to catch tree branches still but that is just a husky trait and it takes your attention the the new plastics and graphics that cannot peel off like previous models as they are imbedded in the plastics. all in all i think the husky is a brilliant bike with is quirks and after having ridden both a ktm300exc and a tm300en id still have the husky.
