Goldwing Review
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 04, 2008The Honda Goldwing, flagship of the Honda line, is the luxury bike of the touring class. It has a powerful 1800cc FI engine that immediately responds to the rider's command for power. The controls are logically positioned for easy operation, and the analog console provides a clear view of the speedometer ... and tach.
The bike handles as if it were much smaller. Its' perfect balance and low center of gravity allows it to glide around tight turns, while the suspension provides a smooth and comfortable ride on straight aways.
There is ample storage space in the side and trunk storage compartments, with side pockets on the fairing for small items and papers.
For a touring motorcycle of the Goldwing's reputation, the only glitch might be the seat. While acceptable for an hour or two in the saddle, it becomes less friendly to the area of attention after an extended ride. There are many aftermarket seats available, though you would have thought that Honda would not have provided a need for such a market.
Except for the seat issue, the Goldwing is probably the most reliable, well thought out motorcycle of its' class on the road.
